@gibby OK, kind of figured that. Thanks for the clarification!
@gibby I emailed them and they said that official college transcripts were not necessarily required, but I can send them asap if I wish. What does this mean? Does it mean that they just won’t consider my college courses if I don’t send them in?
I have no idea what Admissions meant by “not necessarily required” but I would heed Harvard’s advice and send your college transcripts ASAP.
@gibby, I have a tracker on the e-transcript that I sent, and it shows that it hasn’t been opened in MA yet. Should I call the admissions office to check if they’ve received it tomorrow, or is it too late for that (since I’ve heard that they’re already in committee)?
Last year, less than 10% of all SCEA applicants were rejected. That doesn’t sound like a possibility for you. If you are deferred, it will not be because of your missing college transcript. So, I’d just let it go.
Thank you @gibby I called back and they said they haven’t recieved them yet, so I don’t think I can do anything about it. Why would you say that if I’m deferred, it wouldn’t be due to the missing transcript? Just curious!
It’s very rare that Admissions can point to one single factor that put a student in the deferred pile and not on the accepted list. It’s usually a combination of factors – and most often is due to other applicants presenting a stronger overall case for acceptance.
