URGENT!Questions about Tufts international student financial aid

<p>I made sure that I read each every sentence on the financial aid page and the requirements seemed ... a bit strange.
As an international students, I am informed that competition for FA is extremely strong and I need to submit CSS profile online and if accepted, sumbit the ISFAA. BUT,there is no information requried on CSS to provide the actual financial condition of my family, which means, when I am considered for admission, the admission people know I need FA but they won't know how much I actually need until I am admitted (if).</p>

<p>That makes no difference for a student applying for full-aid and someone who only apply for a $4000 FA, right? Or should I send in additional forms(bank statements, etc.) when I apply?</p>

<p>When you apply, you’ll get a TAMS account. On this, there is a small section for financial aid. It asked me (and I think everyone else) for the CSS Profile and the 2008 Parent Federal Income tax Return. For RD kids (I was ED), they’ve now added 2009 stuff. Don’t worry. It’ll tell you what you need on TAMS once you apply.</p>

<p>Since I am not a domestic student, I don’t think I will be required to fill in the parent federal income tax return…Thx for your reply!!!</p>

<p>I’m also an international applicant applying for a lotttttt of financial aid.
I was just wondering what you mean by “there is no information required on the CSS to provide the actual financial condition of my family”. I believe there is lots… I mean, like, you need to provide lots of details about how much you make and how much you spend. I guess you don’t have to prove that with bank statements and stuff immediately, but the assumption is that you’re not lying and that they will match very closely when you are asked to send them in for real.
So, through all of those fancy calculations based on your income and expenses and whatever, Tufts figures out how much aid you need. And you yourself are asked to indicate how much you could pay (I think…).
Hope that helped; if I’m wrong, please tell me :)</p>
