Pitt Costs of Attendance (Incl. Room & Board): [University of Pittsburgh: Undergraduate Admissions & Financial Aid](Office of Admissions and Financial Aid | University of Pittsburgh)

And congratulations on receiving the scholarship!:)

@ brownlover00: Did your receive an invitation to apply to the Chancellor’s scholarship? Because that would provide room and board if you are selected to receive it.

Otherwise expect to pay around $8,000-$10,000 per year depending on your living and eating arrangements. Housing is guaranteed for three years, and nearly all students move off campus for their fourth year.

congrats brown!
what were your stats?

Room charges range from $1750 to $2750 per term…

so if there are two terms a year…then it should be 5500 MAX per year for room and board

why would it be 8 to 10 k?

Room charges do not include food - aka “board.” For food you need to allow about $1800 to $2000 per semester. Therefore, $5500 plus $4000 equals $9500. Note: that is purely an estimate. Look at Pitt’s website under Panther Central for exact costs for dorm room housing and board for this year.

adding to that ^^ board also includes required fees and books and all that I believe

DD’s room and board is $4800 per semester and books are probably another $500. She did run out of food money before she ran out of semester–haha, so we had to send her some additional money. Fees, I think were around $400 per semester.

Pitt’s pre-md is well respected as is its medical school (top 15 I think I heard). At one of the information sessions, they talked about percentage of students who are in medical related majors (nursing and pre-pharmacy among others) and said it’s about 40 percent.

Wow, 40% students are medical related majors. I just searched “pre-med” in UPitts web site and found this article “Pitt students finding it tougher to get into Pitt’s medical school” at [Pitt students finding it tougher to get into Pitt’s medical school | The Pitt News](http://www.pittnews.com/node/1735). I am wondering what percentage of UPitts pre-med students can get admission to any medical school.

I wonder what percentage of ANY school’s pre-med students can get admission to “any medical school.” Lol, I don’t think they bother with percentages that miniscule.

The price for room & board depends upon the dorm room and dining plan you choose. Towers double is cheaper than a suite at PA/Panther Hall. You also have to pay the fees and books so figure about 4,500 - 5,000 per semester.

For those interested in pre-med, there is a site devoted to pre-med/med school stuff:

[Student Doctor Network Forums | An educational community for students and doctors spanning all the health professions.](http://■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/)

It is EXTREMELY competitive and costly to apply to all the medical schools so if you can get admitted to the guaranteed medical school program (saves on all the application fees and vists for interviews) then you have no worries except maintaining your required GPA.
