Urgent! Teacher Rec. Question!

So on the QuestBridge site it says teachers: "...should have taught you in core academic subjects, such as English, history, math, foreign languages, or the sciences, during your sophomore, junior, or senior year (preferably junior year)."

However, one of my teachers writing a recommendation taught me in FRESHMAN Biology. But in addition to that, they've worked with me in the years following as an adult mentor for my science fair projects and as a result have watched me grow and develop academically and personally.

Is it okay to have a freshman teacher write this recommendation given these circumstances?

Just do it.

I’d say its okay to do, just have them explain how they have mentored you throughout the years in the recommendation.
