Hi please someone help.
I have just decided to apply to Michigan, and I was downloading the teacher rec. form when I noticed it said have only a "core subject" teacher give you a recommendation. However, it says "social studies." is AP Psychology considered enough of a core subject because it is a social science, or are they only referring to the history classes US, world, govt, etc. I have two recommendations prepared from other schools :my precalc/calc teacher, physics teacher, and psych. The best recommendation is my psych, but do I have to use one of the other two? PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!!

It seems to me it would qualify. Psych is most definitely a social science.

I think by 'core' they mean don't use your home ec teacher.

A psych teacher is just fine.

A.P. Psych involves a lot of biology, so it might also fall under "science." But I think of it as a social science first and foremost, too. If I were you, I'd classify it according to major, like if you're majoring in something humanities-based I'd put it down as a social science.

yes. i used my psych teacher's rec and i got in. so it must have been okay.
