URGENT- Waitlisted Schools- double-committing

I am currently writing "letters of interest" to 3 schools that i have been waitlisted at. My top choice is wesleyan but i doubt i'll get in. I've writted them a letter committing to them as my first choice and promising that i can pay full tuition.

I know this is deplorable, but I also want to tell oberlin they are my first choice since i highly doubt i would get into both schools. is there a real way that schools can find out that I have promised this to another school and reject me/notify the other school?

i need to know soon so i can send off my letters.

the chances r slim, but there is still that chance. whatever you do, make sure you wont regret it later. If i were you i’d play it safe and send it to the 1 school that you are dieing to go to, the one u r most committed to.

So what does one say to the #2 school if that school is expecting the waitlistee to say they will defiinitely go there in their letter?
