URGENT! When do we sumbit? ON Jan 1st?

Hey guys, I was wondering can we submit during the day on January 1st? Or does it have to be by 11:59 PM on December 31st?

Is the deadline 11:59 January 1st, or whatever the due date is? In simple terms can we work on them on the due date, no matter what date, and then submit before the next day, example January 2nd?

Please help!

11:59 January 1st

talk about pushing it!

its due on the deadline day at 11:59pm

Edit: o yea EASTERN STANDARD TIME

Thanks so much, I just found the answer on the website.

And yea, Clout, I'm a master, you should be totally jeal.

okay. so that means jan 1 deadline is on jan 1 @11.59 pm and jan 2 deadline is on jan 2.. right?

Yup, you get until the last possible minute ON the due date.

If we miss the deadline, could we still submit in the next day ?

It's called a deadline for a reason. you don't submit after it.

You mean CommonApp website will not allow us to submit later ( I mean the submit button will be not available) ???

Are you serious?

Duong, here's a quote from the Common App Support Center

Can I submit my application after the deadline?
You must contact the college(s) for permission to submit after the deadline. If the school will allow the submission, they must contact us directly.

Thank geek_mom.
I think it is impossible to contact adcom right now while every college takes a week off.

does anybody have a link or somethign saying that we can submit the day of the deadline?

From the common app:
Will my application be accepted if I do not reside in the Eastern time zone?

All application deadlines are as of 11:59pm ET on the stated deadline day. The Common Application records all dates (deadlines, form submission dates, payment dates) in Eastern Time. Schools not located in the eastern time zone may choose to extend their application deadlines to the end of a deadline day in their local time zone, or may accept your documents up until the posted deadline in their local time zone (even though your submission time stamp will be recorded in Eastern Time.) For example, a school located in California may accept your application until 2:59am Eastern Time, which is equivalent to 11:59pm Pacific Time. Since this is on a school-by-school basis and this is not information that may not be available to you, we recommend you submit based on the Eastern Time deadline. Most colleges will accept the submission if it is within a reasonable time period around their deadline.

well it worked out for my brother (i just checked with him) so it should work out, though its better to send it in a bit earlier than on the dot...

So are we 100 PERCENT certain we don't have to submit at 11:59 PM today?

Is there written evidence of this? It would really suck if I tried submitting like at 2 only to find I missed all deadlines :(

you could call up the school to inquire

Because we can't show you the links from OUR common app accounts you can check yourself on the Help Section. Or you can just believe what is below, FROM THE HELP SECTION:
