URGENT: Where should I schedule my interview?

I had to reschedule my interview and now, I get to choose the location of the interview. Where should I choose? Library? Starbucks? I want to make a good impression!

Where can you best be yourself? Starbucks or the library?

@MidwestDad3 Anywhere lol. I just fear that the Starbucks may be too loud but the library might be too quiet and want us to stop talking. Are there any other places that are appropriate? I don’t want to reccomend my school because it’s on the 5th floor with no elevator.

Is there a Mom & Pop coffee shop that might be quieter? I think coffee shops are good, because then you have something to do with your hands while talking. I just think the library can be kind of awkward.

@MidwestDad3 Where I live, the Mom & Pop shops are expensive and crowded, so I wouldn’t be able to guarantee a seat, which would be SUPER awkward.

BUMP THIS IS URGENT

Can you have it at the interviewer’s house?

You can’t figure this out and you want to go to Northwestern?

You could ask the interviewer if there is a place that she likes close to her work or home.

@wayneandgarth Ignoring you. Not at all constructive.

@NorthwesternDad would that really be appropriate?

@MidWestDad3 I was told to choose a place, which is why I have this dilemma

S had his interview (not NU though) at the interviewer’s house. You can tell him/her the reasons for your dilemma.

Starbucks, Panera Bread, Library–some place with good parking, and get there early to get a table.

Don’t go to interviewer’s house - that is creeper-ish!
All of my son’s interviews were at coffee shops.

Okay, so i found a little cafe, spoke to the manager and they said it’s really laid back and quiet. Im gonna go with that. Hopefully it won’t be too loud because it will be during the school day. My interviewer is a man and I just couldn’t possibly fathom going to his house.

Just so you know to take the pressure off, for NU an interview doesn’t really affect your chances other than to show the university your interest. It’s more about finding out more info for yourself what you would like about it. As long as it’s not too strange a meeting place I wouldn’t worry to much about location.

You don’t need to interview at NU, so chill out. My D is recent alum, and son is current student. One was ED, one RD and neither interviewed.
