URGENT which scores do I send?

Okay, I know Duke will take either the SAT and two subject tests, or the ACT. I got a 2040 on my SAT (760 writing, 660 CR, 620 math), and a 28 on my ACT. I sent both, thinking they would just consider the ACT score. I just got back my SAT subject tests (690 Lit, 660 Bio M). Considering my SAT score, whether it's better than my ACT score, should I submit my SAT subject tests so they consider the SAT I score????? I need to do it soon because Jan. was the last date they would accept them.

I don’ think it will matter for your application. Both your SAT and ACT scores are well below the 25% for admitted freshmen at Duke. Your subject test scores are in the bottom half of all students who take these tests.

The Admissions Office is well into their decision process. Although they will accept new information at any point until decisions are announced, I suspect they will not consider the new information at this point. It is unlikely that submitting the scores now will have any impact.

They said they would consider them though

A 2040 is not “well below the 25% mark”
It may be in the bottom end but you make it sound as if they have no chance. Its in the bottom 25% but its definitely not “way below”

Thank you Leighhopeful! I needed that encouragement. rmldad’s comment is just grim and doubtful. I like to keep the idea of holistic admissions in my mind.

Who knows who gets accepted. But I doubt the bottom 25% is all that holistic. You have less then 250 spots to be filled from this quartile during regular decision. A majority of these spots will be targeted applicants, the largest of which has to be recruited athletes.

Honestly know one knows and it just depends on each applicant. I still think you have a chance but obviously chances are slim not just for you but for me and everyone else. So I guess well all just have to wait and see!

Yes thank you and good luck to everyone!
