i can’t believe I did this but I forgot that you have to send all of your ACT scores to Yale. I took it twice but I only sent one of those scores to Yale. Should I just forget about it since the admission decision will be sent to me in like two weeks or send it now or ???
Other info:
I applied a while ago under SCEA.
I got a 35 both times.
I didn’t self report my ACT
I’m guessing you will be deferred without the test scores. And certainly the scores because they will need it one way or another. I also might call/email Yale admissions and ask if there is anything you can do at this point.
@happy1 I think he has sent one of his score just hes worried because yale requires all score to be sent and he only sent on of his act scores when he has taken two
@Ksty1098 – oops, my bad
Also I would call the admissions office and ask
Well, I’ve sent one of the two test scores. Can colleges tell if you’ve taken the ACT more than once?
Also, in the Yale Portal, there’s a spot where I can update my application. "If you have substantial new information to add to your application, please provide a brief description below. Submissions will be added to your application file and made available to the Admissions Committee. Please use this form only for significant updates that have occurred since you submitted your application.
Could I possibly just write down the specifics of my other ACT test in here and not send it? B/c according to http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/826114-act-score-choice-for-yale.html
which, granted, is from 2009, says that as long as you self report all of your ACT scores to Yale, you only have to send 1 official score report?
Yale requires all ACT scores. The “you only have to send 1 official score report” is only for students that feel the cost of sending an additional report (ACT charges a fee to send per test) represents a financial burden, at least that’s what I thought. I think your best bet is to pick up the phone, explain exactly what happened (be very polite), and ask if Yale would like me to send the last remaining official scores or report in the portal.
Okay, I’ll call the admissions office tomorrow. Thank you all!
From 2009 – in middle school? I would not report a score from before 9th grade.
Oh my bad, I meant the link was from 2009. My scores are from Oct 2014 and the state one in March 2015
Your composite each time was the same, so I doubt they’d accuse you of attempting to conceal anything. Just call, explain, and offer to send the new report now.
They will not be able to know if you’ve taken the ACT twice unless you put down you did it twice.
You can always call - honesty is the best policy. But I doubt they’d deny you on that basis because they don’t know you took it twice in the first place.
