URI - is it the right ft?

From OOS. D got denied form JMU (real surprise!), but admitted to URI (safety) and was wonderng about life at URI. I an concerned about the party scene (is it pretty much the same or worse than some other schools). She is interested in Sociology/Famliy Studies and theater. Likes the proximity to some of the surrounding area, but was concerned as she went on a website and most of what she saw were sayings from kids being accepted and couldn't wait to party. Is that all the kids think about? Will one get a good education and career opportunities? Will she fit in if partying is all she does not want from her college experience.

Hey I’m a freshmen at URI right now and I am a nursing major, which is obv. a tough major. I find that the party life here at URI is good, but it is not overwhelming. I have noticed that many students stay in to do their work when they have to as well as studying. I am also involved in greek life on campus. I don’t find it hard to keep my grades up as well as enjoy the party scene. Dont worry if you decide to come here after a few weeks of classes you should be able to adjust to the new life and get everything in working order

ct2014, how is the pharmacy student body at URI. im a pharm major and i thought you would know a little about pharm kid since you are a nursing major.
thanks.

i only know a few pharmacy students here, i know the program is competitive and has students who are serious and do they’re work , but I can’t really give you anymore information sorry.

I’m in high school and I’ve visited my friend who is currently a junior there. I personally think there are a ton of parties, but I guess I don;t have the best judgment since I’m not there every weekend.
