top 10 %

4.1/4.5 GPA UW

APUSH last year (4)
5 AP's this year

EC's are average
hopefully my recs and essay will be good.

I am Hispanic from a poor city.

I would like to double major in engineering and (economics or business).

apply and good luck!

hahaha, i knew my chances were that slim

no, ur stats mark u as competitive, i think u stand a pretty good chance.

Hm... I think you're very borderline competitive for MIT (with the URM boost). Without teh URM boost then your chances are slim to none, but your race and your economic background will be a major help to you. With some luck, you're in - so basically youre in the same boat as the rest of us ;)

good luck to you

I remember reading that adcoms consider stats within the context of each applicant.

So if you come from a school with an SAT average of 600 and you have a 1350, I think they will look postively on that.

It is hard to succeed in poor school systems (I know this from personal experience), and I think (hope) the adcoms recognize this.

Good luck!
