I was just wondering how much being a URM helps in getting into Vandy. I'm both Native American and African American, so any information would be greatly appreciated!

your username says it all

Just like with every other school, it’s significantly beneficial to your application.

It definitely helps. Your background should help a lot. That being said, Vanderbilt will only take students that they believe can be successful and thrive. If you give some of your stats I will give you my best estimate on your chances (for whatever that’s worth).

Your GPA looks good (I presume this is out of 4) and top 10% is also good. Your ECs look good except there are no leadership positions. If you have held leadership rolls be sure to include this with all your applications. As you noted, your SAT, ACT along with your recommendations and essay will also play a roll. You have a good resume so far. Good luck on you SAT’s and ACT and enjoy the college search process. Hopefully without too much stress.
