Hahaha nice.

Hahaha nice.

people are not answering the op's question.

he is asking if there is such an urm who scores 2300+, are there examples that they get denied.

my guess is that it is VERY unlikely, since there are so few of them and they tend to "stand out".

someone accused the op of only looking at scores and grades....he very likely forgot something.
at leas the op took in a very important factor into the discussion....ethnicity, what the US has historically made a big deal about and is still arguing over about.

besides, REDBIRDZ is completely wrong.

the aceptance rate for 2300+ at most selective colleges is about 30~40% (of course, correlation may not equal causation)
and most of the rejected 2300+ people are asians, then white...
so it is completely ignorant to assume MOST urms with 2300+ get rejected w/o doing some simple google search.

What in the world is a URM??

I'm hearing that everywhere!

what is it?!

I think it stands for underrepresented minority. I'm Hispanic and attend a public school in Harlem. One of the girls I go to school with got a 2370 on the SAT in one sitting and she got rejected by Princeton, Harvard, and Yale. Got into Cornell though. Everyone was shocked by this because she's black. Colleges don't just look at SAT scores though so I guess the rest of her application didn't match what those Ivies were looking for.

^woah she must have had a really bland application

That's scary cuz I'm a black male with a 2370 on the SAT lol....

What on earth is a URM?

URM= under represented minority

global student....your question was answered 3 posts above u...

sometimes its surprising how many ppl dont know what a urm is..........

Introuble111,
Considering that on the high school board, you describe being in trouble for on-line harrassing and impersonating other students, even if you are a URM with an SAT of 2400, I think that your chances are very low of getting into Ivies or any colleges that consider character important.

Yes, I think that you can get into some colleges, but I truly doubt that the very top ones will admit you.

didnt read the whole thread, but

Asians are not URMS, they are ORMS (OVER-represented miniorities)

I have no proof of this, but from what i've seen, i'd say most 2300+ URMS can get into ivies pretty easily, especially if they apply to several

To NSM I am tired of useless and nonsensical posts. I am not a URM actually I am a ORM if you check my later posts which you are so adept at doing. Furthermore, if you didnt know I was accquited and no college will find out about my "character flaws".

^^
Wow outta line buddy! I know NSM isn't the most optimistic of people at times, (she once destroyed one of my first chances threads I made barely coming in as a junior) but she has great insight from an adult point of view.
