So this is the first time I am taking an AP class and I am scared because I have no idea what I put myself into. I just wanted to ask whether the class is hard or not. No one told me anything about AP although I have took honors before and scored As in all my classes. Can someone please tell me more about AP class. Will I get Notes for every chapter???
If you’re taking APUSH from an Honors US History course, you should have no problem with getting through the class. I started barely getting an A- then I ended up getting an A in the course and a 4 on the exam. This is how I got it done:
-
REVIEW EVERYTHING. The AP Exam covers material from a US History I and II class. If you intend on taking the exam, be sure to review early. At my school, the Honors US I teachers would host after-school review sessions covering all material from US I.
-
Buy review books. I used Barron’s, Crash Course and Kaplan APUSH review books to do practice tests and review material that didn’t get through to me.
-
Go to apushreview.com. There are videos that cover every period you need to know for the exam.
-
Take the SAT US History Exam the month/week before the APUSH exam. It makes you review everything you’ve learned in US History I and II and it was by far much easier than the AP Exam.
-
Ask questions in class and at extra help. The instructor is there to help you, not hurt you. If you don’t understand something, ask!
-
Take a breather. Don’t stress yourself out over an AP class. Take breaks in studying. Listen to music. Exercise. Eat a snack. Stressing yourself out won’t do you any good.
I hope this helped and best of luck! You can do it
Thank you so much
