US History SAT II - Which books?

I will be taking the US History SAT II, and I was wondering which books I should get for studying/reviewing. Should I get all three of the below?

1) AMSCO AP US HISTORY
2) SAT II U.S. History For Dummies
3) Kaplan

Any insight/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Quoting a previous thread that might be helpful

I disagree with some of the things in that post. I took the US II in october and I got a 780 when almost no one broke 750 on the test due to the harsh curve. I started reading the princeton review three days before the test and took the practices the night before. The information is a little general, but it was very helpful. If you’re looking for a more broad study tool to use for a longer period of time then AMSCO is your best bet.

Thank you for your comments. I am looking to get a high 700-800. Would you recommend the princeton review in combination with something else? Thanks again.

I got a 4 on the AP test. What do you think, if I read through the entire Kaplan Prep Book, I would get on the test?

my friend gave me his REA sat 2 us history book, since i only have 1 month left, do any of you recommend this book? or should i go for one of the other books listed above

^ We used REA to prepare for the AP exam and I got a 4 on it. Didn’t do much studying…kind of wish I did…it had a really nice review section …lots of detail and really clear. I liked it alot.

I used Kaplan after taking the AP exam to study for the SAT II (also reviewed REA a bit)…did some practice questions and read over all of the sections about a week or 2 before the SAT and got an 800. I guess it really helped!

damn an 800?
i might switch from lit to history!
lol

Hic AMSCO is so rare :(( Amazon sells it but its costs up to >= 47$ :((

AMSCO is pretty good. Read it and score 700+ !

i am using REA right now…very helpful and get the one w/ 6 practice test…practice makes perfect!!! haha i also had the CDROM and it helps…there are 2 tests in it and u are actually timed and scored! It great

try here!
