i think because of silver coinage
it created inflation
which was benifactory for farmers

I THINKKKK

Feign- If you are asking what I think you’re asking than the answer is simple. Silver coinage would cause inflation. The [hypothetical] $100 that a farmer owed would be easier to pay back. From what I understood in my History class, silver was more available and would cause inflation on the dollar, and that was the basis for the whole silver movement.

YAH

i knew it was inflation lol

oh ya and
mcvcm92 so both wanted to abandon the radical views and lean toward emotion?

well whats the difference between the 1st and 2nd? im pretty sure they were different

oh yah and does impeachment mean breaking the rules (vocab question =p)

(re-posting questions)

@ stuntburn rk33

ah okay i understand now. If you cause inflation, the debtors will be able to pay their debt easier since that money they owed previously will be worth less than what it is currently…

Do we still go by a gold/silver standard?

^ We don’t go by either, as we use money as our currency now. (I asked the same q to my APUS teacher lol)

then what do we go by? do we go by the system where our currency isnt backed by anything?

i’m pretty sure we go by the gold standard

Or currency is neither backed 100% by gold or silver, it is backed by faith and the understanding by people of its value.

I meant “our” not “or” btw.

Yes it is.

Okay… Reconstruction: Home Rule

Corruption during Grant’s 2nd term: Name some scandals

We’re on the “Faith” Standard. I have no idea how to explain that, but a good way to understand it would be to look around and see all the people freaking out, and at the same time see our dollar being worth less.

Hey guys,

What books do you think are best to review for the USH SATII?
I currently have Kaplan’s, but haven’t read it yet…
Any suggestions?

(Sorry if this has been brought up before)

I’m using Sparknotes and my AP books!!

rk33, I honestly almost fell out of my chair after reading what you wrote… :D

720 on my 2nd Sparknotes test, gonna go read more Kaplan. I’m kind of in a rut right now and can’t find any motivation to keep studying :(

I took the two practice tests in the collegeboard book and did reasonably well, however my friends who took the may ushist said it was much harder. Looking at the May chat discussion, the questions they talked about are way more particular than anything in AP books or these 2 collegeboard tests.

well whats the difference between the 1st and 2nd? im pretty sure they were different

JBoxer7: You’re right. I’m almost crying now, I need an 800 and have no idea how to study for this test. Do you think that the curve will be more lenient, or is the test just getting harder?

You could go memorize a textbook. :l lol jk. Just keep reading over and over again until Saturday.

First Catholic President

John F Kennedy?

yes

Al Smith ran against Hoover in 1928 and, among other things, the fact that he was Catholic severely hurt his campaign.
