I heard there are some schools, particularly those near the border - northeast region - that have arrangements or tuition reduction plans for Canadians that are accepted. Anyone know about these schools or how to find this information?

Thanks!

I haven’t heard of that recently but several years ago I heard of some that offered the opportunity to pay in Canadian dollars. That was when the U.S. dollar was much higher. Today that wouldn’t be an advantage.

SUNY Potsdam offers an international incentive which is very close to the cost of room and board.

why?

No good university is going to do this. Even with “international incentives” the cost of attending a school in the states will be higher for you than going to one in Canada. You can go to a better school in Canada for that same price.

asdf098 I am afraid you don’t have any idea what you are talking about. Don’t base whether it is a good school or not on everything you read here, do your research first. Our D will get a double degree in 4 years where it generally takes 5 in Canada, she will be licensed to teach in Ontario, New York State and any other State that accepts NY certification (not so with a Canadian University). Her College (University) is very well recognized (and we did do serious research about this) by all Canadian and US Universities (including Ivies) when she goes for her single or double Master Degree. Also with the International Incentive the cost in our case is exactly the same as if she went to any Canadian University and had to pay room and board. You appear to be basing your opinion on the dollar cost. Don’t do that because unless your parents have a load of money or you don’t mind massive loans you will be sadly disappointed.

percussiondad - will you send me info on what college? PM me? thanks.
