Hi there,

I currently acceptances from University of Glasgow, Liverpool and Newcastle. I am most likely inclined to go to the University of Glasgow, Computer Science.

Today, I received an acceptance from UC- Riverside, Computer Science. I intend to work in computer science industry or do a start-up .

At UC- Riverside , I intend to work hard and try as a transfer to a better university .

I am an international student.

What do you think ?

Thanks :)

Transferring can be very difficult even for US students. It is much harder for international students. Do not choose UC-Riverside with the specific plan of transferring out. Choose it because you believe you could do well there for all four years. That way if your transfer plan fails, you will still be happy.

What’s the cost?
U Glasgow, being in the Russell Group and a “historical” Russell Group, is far more prestigious. It’s also likely much cheaper.
Transfering from UC to UC is quite difficult, since California Community College students (especially those in TAP/TAG) have priority. However, in terms of setting for computer science California is better, and as far as weather goes, Riverside can’t even be in the same league as Glasgow (brrrr).
Is money an issue? By this I mean: you or your parents can pay full price without loans, and especially: neither you nor your parents intend on taking more than about $8,000 in loans per year. If money is an issue, you should pick the cheaper school (avoiding freezing rain isn’t worth that much money :p

Same problem with University of Michigan vs Bristol… (aerospace engineering)

I am leaning toward Michigan at the moment.
