<p>Hey people,</p>

<p>I didn't know if this was the right forum to put this in....but basically heres the story. I'm from the UK and me and my mates are looking to come out to America next summer for a month in August. We want to go somewhere, where there will be a lot of college students and lots happening...we are looking at getting a house out there for the month, but we are a bit stuck on where to look? Where do college students tend to go for summer break?</p>

<p>Can anyone help us out, we would be veryyyyy grateful! Also if you have any links for cheap housing out there, that would be cool</p>

<p>You aren’t going to find a big conglomeration of students anywhere in the summer.</p>

<p>Most college campuses are quiet during the summer.</p>

<p>If you are just looking for fun, try Las Vegas, Jersey Shore, Myrtle Beach, Daytona Beach.</p>

<p>Boston has a big college crowd and Austin, TX is a fun place for college students.</p>

<p>In the summer, most college towns are dead. Vacation spots are the best way to go - Las Vegas and Jersey shore would be some top picks.</p>

<p>You could also find a house for a month at the Jersey shore, probably not at Vegas, at least not affordable.</p>

<p>You wouldn’t want to spend a month in vegas anyway. A month anywhere is a long time to vacation in one spot.</p>

<p>Some schools go back in August. A lot of west coast schools start in August.</p>

<p>New York… You can rent a house more cheaply in the suburbs (Long Island, Connecticut, Westchester, and Northern New Jersey) and spend some time on the beaches in those places. I recommend Jones Beach (Long Island), much less annoying than the Jersey Shore.</p>

<p>Well I would say Panama City, Destin, or Pensacola (they are normally big hot spots, especially during Spring Break). But those beaches are all dead because of the oil spill (my friends and I cancelled our trip there). But you guys aren’t coming til next August. While I doubt the entire spill will be cleaned by then, who knows, maybe at least the beaches will be clean.</p>

<p>Other than that, check out Ft. Lauderdale, Southern California, Las Vegas. </p>

<p>Also try going to Gainesville, Florida…its near the University of Florida (which starts school during early August), so there will be a lot of college kids there, and the first couple weeks over there are filled with many parties (its a big party school). And its only like an hour away from the Atlantic Ocean beaches</p>

<p>That makes a big difference. What is it you want to do?</p>

<p>If you visit in late August most of the schools will be back in session. College football will be starting which is a huge deal for campuses and entire states.</p>

<p>I’m under 21 and have always had fun in Miami (live here), Orlando (awesome theme parks, you have to go at least once in your life), New York and Boston. Boston and Gainesville are big college towns; Boston has god knows how many universities/colleges and Gainesville has UF. </p>

<p>If you’re over 21 then definitely check out cities like Las Vegas because it’s a more adult-oriented place.</p>
