USC #1 in Top-10 US Dangerous Top-schools...

Talking about the Playboy rankings...

Here "thanks" to the Chinese students shooting in earlier months
promotional rippling effect especially to the Asia market, USC was
soon ranked #1 here among top-US-schools in
its dangerous campus-area.

The (only)positive here is that the ranking analysis at least does recognize
USC as top-famous US schools alongside with others in the list, albeit
all in dangerous areas...

I'm not surprised SC's on the list, but
I'm a bit surprised SC's #1 in fame (hotly propelled by the shooting),
while Chicago just #6, and Berkeley's not even on the list.

Anyway, the US media-market won't read this so don't
need to "care-the-heck" on this non-major Chinese ranking
site. Though this site page serves as info-guide to warn
Chinese media-market students applying for US
colleges to alert/avoid dangerous schools to avoid "getting
killed before even graduation and jobs..."
The rich Chinese officials, for instance, are becoming the new
VIP-parents-customers and major $revenue-source of
Top US Ivy schools in a recovering US economy.

On the positive side, I’m sure SC school management
will react proactively to expedite downtown-LA
gentrification and the new
student housing.

Luckily, there are plenty of qualified American students (many of them full pay) to pick up any slack.

LOL this article is oozing racism… it goes on and on about blacks.

I don’t think we need to bother with taking this seriously - Poorly written article, and one of the reasons on the list (rutgers) is anecdotal.

This seems to me like someone is ranking what they perceive to be the most dangerous schools, there is no quantitative substance behind each ranking… where are the crime stats?

Just because two chinese students were killed in the unfortunate tragedy last spring does not make USC the most dangerous US university…

(By the way, I’m Chinese, so no racial bias against the author here. Also from NYC, so I am fully aware of what kind of neighborhood Columbia’s in too. )

Oh yeah Columbia. So dangerous, right? Next to Central Park and surrounded by some of the most expensive neighborhoods in Manhattan. I don’t believe you’re from NYC or you would know how much better it is now.

Haha Columbia…you guys ob havent ever visited Washington University in St. Louis.

Hahahahahaha you crack me up grabbit - Central Park? Expensive neighborhoods in manhattan? Morningside Heights is adjacent to Harlem. Maybe you don’t believe that I’m from NYC - but I KNOW you aren’t from NYC. Sure, upper west side might be swanky… but that area doesn’t extend up that far.

And you just proved my point, btw. Morningside Heights has been getting a lot better, but if you read the article that the OP linked to, the author goes on about the proximity to Harlem, which he describes as “a black ghetto”, and how local residents are primarily latino and african-american.

But sure, test my knowledge on NYC whydontcha? How about reading my post to see that I was mocking the author of the topic? Reading comprehension is your friend

i live in harlem and columbia is not in a good area. better than east harlem, sure. but it is NOT the UWS.
