USC was the 25th school down the list last year but ranked at #26 due some schools being tied. On that list you linked to there are 27 schools so that must mean at least two more schools tied.

Here’s to hoping USC moved up into the top 25 and UCLA either tied with us or better yet moved down a spot :)

Fell below? USC hasn’t ever been ranked above UCLA… at least not in modern times. If USC *does *surpass UCLA, it will be a monumental step in the history of the university.

And when that happens, we Trojans are going to party 24/7 for the next week. Having move-in day this year a day after the release of the 2011 US News rankings is just too perfect timing.

“Predictions” have no effect whatsoever on rankings, and the relative rankings will not change the fact that all three are excellent universities.

How about you stop with the stupid ■■■■■■■■ of the ucla/usc forums regarding this topic? Yes we’re all just as excited to see the results on the 17th but registering a username just to go bait people in the ucla forum and be rude to us over here is rather rude.

Again, thanks to the moderators for stepping in, but to keep those looking at the thread now from being confused, Kulakai and I were responding to a post that has since been deleted.

It is funny to see the USC hoopla because the US News rankings have been discredited a long time ago as having a flawed ranking methodology (just search Google to read why). The US News list is no more accurate than the MTV Music Awards and is produced for one reason - to sell lots of magazines. In fact it has been discovered that US News shuffles the list around (by constantly changing methodology and criteria weights) for no other reason than to capture the public interest and to sell more magazines. Few educated students in the top schools would take this marketing seriously.
