are you sure Kulakai? It says this about the high school transcripts “Send by mail official, final high school transcripts. Be sure to attach a copy of Form 7, Transcript Request Form for High School Records to each high school transcript you submit.”

but i dont know how you would attach it to a sealed envelope

Yes but feel free to call admissions to double check because I believe that applies to freshman applicants who are having the transcripts sent from their high school. It would be hard to attach this form when you no longer live in the same state/city as that high school.

LF24, I sent one in too but they usually take a few days. I have an official HS transcript I can use, but it’s sealed. I wanted to fax it to the school but I’m not sure if I can open it.

@Jhsocal - Probably not. Although I am not sure on this, USC and several other schools I’ve seen allow people to fax in their official transcript with cover sheet so you don’t have to pay to have an official copy mailed for every school you apply to.

So say you are applying to 30 schools, paying $3 per transcript sent out isn’t cheap so it is more economical to just order one for yourself and then fax it in.

Someone else correct me if I’m wrong on this assumption.

@striker15: i’m just gonna use my UC personal statement (prompt 2), when i wrote my uc statements i kinda intentionally tailored it to USC as well by describing a failure or something (the einstein essay) and learning from my mistakes and how it shapes my character or w/e

o and for quick takes if i put “God” as best fictional character will i be automatically rejected?

oh alright thanks Kulakai
then is it ok we personally send in the official sealed transcripts (both hs & college) along with a letter of rec in 1 big envelope?

JHsocal i was thinking the same thing to attach the forms to the sealed envelopes and putting it in a big envelope . I dont see why you couldnt do that? but im not sure

Hmm…yeah i think i have heard they want the institution to mail it but if they get it in a big envelope and it is still has the official seal, i cant imagine them not accepting it

This whole transcript nonsense is starting to get confusing. I’d advise those of you who aren’t just sending them directly from the highschool/college to call them and ask about the giant envelope or faxing unofficial transcripts idea.

i just called USC admissions and the lady told me we could mail in the official transcripts ourselves in a big envelope along with a letter of rec in it; however, we could not fax in unofficial transcripts.

@tbibs, I don’t think you’ll see an update until after the 2/1 deadline. Last year I had the “we have received your application” status for months until I got the SGR status in late May/early June.

Ya I wouldn’t expect any updates for a while. I remember when I went to USC Transfer Day, they said they don’t even start looking at transfer applications until April. I haven’t turned mine in yet, probably going to wait until a few days before the deadline.

I’m applying as a freshman transfer, so most of my classes and lower-division or pre-reqs. On the transfer college transcript cover sheet, can I put my GE’s or is it only intended for major-related course work?
