@ernily yes… feb 2nd at midnight is when the online application is due, better hop on that, the transcripts and letter of recs should just be sent in as soon as possible, but TURN IN THAT APP TODAY!!!

For transfer students, do you think it matters if we submit the CSS Profile after the Feb 2 deadline? Since we get results in June I figure there’s more than enough time, and the website says submit by Feb 2 or as soon as possible after.

@ xdzzzrawr- Are you sure about that? The deadline for the application is listed as Feb 1. When I applied back in high school, that meant by midnight on the 1st. Is it now any time on the 1st?

@purplenurple I don’t think it matters at all. I did but that was just because I happened to finish it. The deadline is March, and you gain nothing by having it in any earlier that that deadline.

@skyline12 I think it means anytime on the 1st. I base this on two main things. 1) People are generally dumb; therefore, USC wouldn’t assume people to have it done by midnight on the first and would give them all day on the first. 2) For the mailed applications it says “Applications postmarked after the deadlines,” in this case February 1st, are not accepted, so they’ll accept anything mailed on the first so it would follow that they’ll accept anything online on the first. Basically, they’re not trying to screw anyone over.

@thelongshot I have seen a few chances already in this thread so I am ganna go with yes, for all the good us chancing each other really does haha

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
We have received your application, and we need more information. Please ensure you have submitted all required items. Due to the high volume of application documents we receive, allow sufficient processing time.

it says updates change after 24 hours and i already submitted them in person…and i have the reciepts as well.

does everyoen elses status say this as well?

Hey guys.
So I have a couple of questions.

How do I send in the official transcript?
Do I need to request one from my school and fax it with the cover sheets and the form I fill out? Or do I let the school send it?

And for the high school one. I need to print and fill out that section of the paperwork, and send it to my high school. Then they will put that with the HS transcript and send it to USC?

Thanks!

@nabilesmail As in you only used the first 5 digits of the zip code? You will be fine. As long as the address is correct, it’ll get there.

@ecullen In less than an hour, as at 12:00 am it will no longer be February 1st.

@detailmore For the College/University Transcript you need to send an official transcript so you simply ask the school to send it to USC (whether this is done by phone, web, or in person). You don’t need to attach any additional paperwork to it, as USC provides none.

For your High School Transcript it depends on your high school, and you need to call them to find out how to do it. Ideally, you can stop by the school, get an official transcript, and put that and the form in an envelope and send it to SC. If you can’t get to the high school, or its a long distance, call your high school and see how process transcript requests. They might not be able to add paperwork to the envelope and might have to send it to you and have you add the paperwork to the envelope they sent you (without breaking the seal to their envelope, as this makes it no longer official) in a larger envelope and then mail that to USC. Keep in mind, the high school will most likely charge money. Moral of the story, call them. Tell them your situation and ask them the best way to do it.

@detailmore

I let my university send my transcripts directly to the address listed on the high school transcript form, and I filled out and faxed form 6.

For the high school transcript, I was able to walk down and request it, so I asked if they could include the form (I filled it out) provided by USC with the transcript. I’m sure your high school will be cool it too. It would probably be best to call ahead and coordinate with them.

I submitted my application two nights ago. It feels great to get that finished, but now the long wait begins. Congrats to everyone who submitted their application and best of luck!

I know it is a little soon to be worrying about this, but is anyone familiar with the housing situation for transfer students? As far as I know, we aren’t guaranteed housing, but I’m hoping it will be available for us. I’m a [hopeful] sophomore transfer who is completing a few Pre-Reqs during the spring semester. Because of this, I am essentially either getting rejected or receiving a SGR. Will on-campus housing potentially be available in mid-late June? It would be a disappointment to only have off-campus housing as an option, so I’d really appreciate any insight into this. Thanks!

Thank you Laguna and Poiman.
Ok. The college transcript seems easy.

My high school is in Asia. I think I’ll ask them to send me one here and I’ll put the form in in a bigger envelope.

Another note: I don’t have a fax machine so I was thinking of using a online fax service. Has anyone tried it before?
The website is gotfreefax dot com.

Submitted my application like an hour and a half ago and I just submitted all my FAFSA and CSS info!
Finally!

Best of luck to everyone else that applied.

Everything had to be submitted by 12:00, Pacific Time Zone wise, right?

@Dainese- I turned my stuff in at admissions and it took about a week to change.

I considered using an online faxing service also, but I wasn’t sure how secure it was. The gotfreefax.com website says they’re secure, and I have heard that efaxing is more secure than conventional faxing due to the encryption some companies offer, but I’m still a little skeptical…

I ended up going to Kinkos to fax it, but they charge quite a bit. I paid a little over $5 to fax 3 pages.

@jhsocal- ur at SAC? honorss program?

for some reason i turned mine in person over a week ago…but still no change… :(

6 MINUTES BEFORE THE DEADLINE!!!
got my notification email…
i can now breathe.
