LeDoniv,
Apply to a range of colleges. Be sure to have a frank discussion with your family as to the costs of private universities. Find a safety you like and would attend that is also a financial safety.

Try to visit as many of the colleges you select before you send in the application. Sometimes research and a tour will convince you which would be a good match…or you know immediately it would not be a “fit”.

I don’t understand why USC and NYU get spoken of in the same breath all the time. I don’t see the similarities, save for maybe similar ranking numbers (although USC is better). Depends on if you like a nice, lush campus (USC), or walking around in the concrete jungle with no campus (NYU). Depends on if you like one of the top-3 athletics program in the entire country (USC) versus D-III NYU Violets. The student population is also vastly different. Many artsy kids at NYU, different vibe at USC. Do you like walking in 70 degree weather on a February day, or trudging through a foot of snow in 15 degree NYC?

To me its no brainer, USC is completely lights out better. Both film schools are the best in the country, but USC is unquestioned the #1 with faculty, location, facilities etc. with the film school.
