So this goes for both USC and UC Berkeley: how do I submit my letters of recommendation and transcript and such. Also, what do they take for recommendations, I can't seem to find this information anywhere. Even a link to further reading would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

UC Berkeley= no transcript or Letter of recommendation needed.
USC=look on USC’s website. they require transcript and 1 letter of rec, one from counselor or a teacher
My advice would be talk to your counselor and if you need information, email uc berkeley or usc personally. UC app is due 11/30, so you should really get cracking on it. Good luck :)

but if i send one, do you think it will be read?

UC’s do not want rec letters; they will not be looked at by anyone who makes decisions on admissions if sent.

^agreed. For UC berkeley in particular, gpa and your course selection matter the most. Test scores aren’t weighed as heavily, but they are still important. And you want to have a strong personal statement, because they do pay a good amount of attention to the essays.
