@LaurenYoohoo I’m sure there’s no correct format. I just put my name, USC ID, and my high school and its address in the top center. I also double spaced it but don’t think that matters.
Nowwww we wait
i didn’t do any of the formatting that you guys did rippppp
My counselor had mentioned my extenuating circumstances that led to my first semester grades dropping, but my letter gave more details on that to paint a better picture. Within me explaining my circumstances, I included how the experiences helped me in some way, but also acknowledged whenever I made a mistake. At the last paragraph, I talked about how everyone faces difficulties, but that my experiences within my first semester helped me gain the strength i needed to overcome them. I also included sentences talking about how the circumstances were inevitable, but made sure to emphasize that I wasn’t a victim and that I held myself accountable for what went wrong. I’m not sure if this will work, but one can only hope.
@candylover132 I didn’t do any of that formatting either. I didn’t even put a closing on the letter or anything. I literally had room for any of that.
They won’t knock me for making the margins 0.8 in, right? That’s part of the default settings on OpenOffice for me.
Everyone, do not sweat the formatting. The only requirement that should have been met was keeping it at one page. Otherwise, none of these little details matter. What you said does. As they say, don’t sweat the small stuff!
does anyone know if a little money will be left over for financial aid if we are accepted?
I submitted my appeal right after midnight, around 12:00-12:01AM April 7, do you think they’ll still accept it? I was having trouble with submitting and now I’m so terrified.
I bet they will - maybe call them to make sure!
I appealed. There was no harm in doing it, and I’m glad I did. I’m getting ready to commit to another school, but just knowing I did everything I could is comforting. I didn’t even tell my college counselor, just something to DO.
Where are all of you planning on committing before you hear back from USC? I still have to decide between 4 schools: DePaul University, Loyola University Chicago, University of San Francisco, or Florida State University. If any of you have any information about these schools let me know! I could use anything to make this decision making process less stressful
Hey guys! Just wanted to join the discussion before appeals decisions came out but I’m planning on committing to Emory University.
When do decisions come back and has anyone received an acceptance? Good luck to all!
@camcam2022 we’re supposed to hear back on May 11
@flyingmonkey123 Good luck. I live outside Chicago and FSU is a great education. Loyola is a nice campus but the weather here is a major downer. We had snow last night.
I will probably commit to Southern Methodist University or Case Western.
I’m between berkeley and UT austin (oos for both)
I’ve committed to CMU Qatar. Will still wait for USC
SMU for me!!!
