USC Appeals Class of 2023

@overit2019 thanks. Ill have her check but I am assuming it Marshall. Big decision!! Didn’t expect this for sure

Is housing still guaranteed for USC approved appeals??

Yes.

I forgot to post earlier but I got accepted to USC Fall 2019 for Marshall School of Business yesterday evening!!!

Definitely more appeals were successful this year (5-2019). Guessing the lower number of freshman initially granted admission and the scandal may have skewed the overall acceptances for the Class of 2023. Reading about lots of successful appeals as well as a several Spring admits being moved up to Fall admissions. Interesting year in college admissions! Good luck to all and Fight On!

How is everyone’s kids doing with appeal offer? My daughter got into Marshall spring. She has committed to Michigan.
USC has been her dream school and she wants business but she’s finding her self v conflicted. She has become emotionally attached to MI and feels it may be a better social fit although I’m sure she would be fine at either. WE are from the east coast. I am happy top send her either place but must admit spring admit is a pain. We have so much MI gear  and flights and hotels all booked for parents weekend in MI. This application process has been insane and very expensive when you factor everything in

Did anybody who got accepted receive their package yet?

Do we still get packets if we’ve been accepted by appeal?

What is a packet?

It will be great if people who got their appeals through to share what they included. My son was not successful but although he had a phenomenal profile … high academic scores, internship related to major, ASB, Leadership, and so many other items. We were offered TTP initially.

Acceptance packet = pretty white box, with gorgeous folder inside. Yes, you will get them.

Lol. A pretty white box will make the decision even harder. I know my daughter

@nonomom I don’t remember exactly but it was a very nicely written email. She alluded to her fall grades being up( which I believe they already had). And that received a leadership award from her Hebrew high school (attends 2 HS). That she was asked by teacher to direct a film. That she had just started working at a clothing store in order to begin her experience with fashion. She prob said she would attend if accepted.

I’d really love to hear from parents who’s kids are struggling with spring admit.

That is exactly how my D described the “packet”!

Her exact words, “it’s’s so pretty!”

We were visiting her two weeks after receiving it in the mail and brought it for her to officially open.

@noname87 in my appeal I talked about why my gpa fell my sophomore year and gave specific reasons. I also listed out all of my accomplishments once more throughout high school, and showed them that they were missing out on someone who works hard, and after re-reading it I can see the passion flying off of the paper, and then I had a striking ending that told them that if I’m not accepted I’ll move on to better things with or without them, and I guess they remembered me based off of that.

@DeRb61 and @SafalM Thank you so much and congratulations… we are so thankful of all the opportunities no matter what … and I totally believe that everyone is destined to be where they are… I wish everyone best of luck and please continue to contribute… I am a new member and I think I will continue to monitor this forum for my next child.

I’m a student who is a spring admit. I accepted the offer today, but I am feeling very anxious about my decision as I would lose out on an opportunity to make friends and the fact that all of my friends start in Fall makes me feel behind (though we supposedly will graduate at the same time as our classmates). I assume your child would feel the same way. @DeRb61

@CADREAMIN Hi! Would it be impolite for me to ask for Fall admission from my admissions rep? After thanking them a million for reconsidering me, could I ask if there is any space in the Marshall School of business for Fall or if it was even a possibility at all? I would love to begin in the Fall just as much as the next student, but I don’t want it to lower my chances of getting changed to Fall admission if I even have one. Thank you!

They know everyone (and that is everyone) would prefer fall and on the spring admissions page it says not to ask. So check that out and decide how you want to play it.
