Which would you advise to your freshman daughter, who has an Exploratory or Undecided major? We live in NC - even with scholarship $ from USC, USC is about 6K more per year - so that isn’t as much of a deciding factor. Which scenario do you all think looks best on a graduates’ resume?
Both are great choices! Research each university for the programs your daughter may be interested in and let the program rankings be your guide. I can personally speak of the engineering and business programs. I am a NCSU engineering graduate and my son will be attending South Carolina for business in the fall. If your daughter is interested in engineering, hands down NCSU. Beyond the ranking, Centennial campus and the Hunt Library are top notch facilities. If she’s leaning toward business, then South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. If there’s a toss up, save the $6k per year and go to NCSU.
Agree with @ChemNC . My son got into NC State and USC but we dont live in either state. He is business but he always has SC as a top contender and NC State came late. He is Capstone as well. Dont really know that much about the program (I know there are virtual meetings this and next week on Capstone) but it seems like a good opportunity to do some different things at SC. If money is not that big of a deal, which way is your daughter leaning. Have you looked at SC? We made it to first Accepted Student day but for many that did not they are going in blind.
