USC Catholic Center

Hey class of '15, or any others (like me) who may be trawling College Confidential...if you're Catholic and/or interested in deepening your connection to God with others who are spiritually inclined and who take their faith seriously, you are invited to become part of our community. We're a large, far-reaching, and respected organization at USC, so even if you're just curious, we want to get to know you.

Here's a link to our https://www.facebook.com/pages/USC-Catholic-Center-Class-of-2015/153869058008821 Facebook page. Join it, communicate with us, jump right in when you arrive in August! We'll welcome you with open arms and always be there for you when you need us.

ALSO: Anyone who is considering Thematic Option (TO), the Resident Honors Program (RHP), or a philosophy, English, or sociology major, go ahead and PM me, perhaps I can help you out.

Thanks for the link! I am going to be a freshman this year and I’m really excited to join the Catholic community at USC :)

Wonderful! We have stuff scheduled nearly every day of the week, varying from social justice activities to spiritual activities to sports activities to just plain ol’ fun activities. Are you going to be visiting USC, or do you live in SoCal?

I ask because I’d like to invite you to come and meet us sometime. Mass is three times on Sunday, 10:30 AM, 7pm, and 10pm, over the summer we have our year-round Homeless Ministry, and we also have a few more big events between now and our end of term (May 13 I think).

I’m from Washington. But I will be down in LA around June 20-27th so I could come to mass that week if it is available. (Are parents welcome, too?) I can’t wait to get involved in the church! I saw on the website that you guys did a service trip over spring break, will this be possible for next year as well?

Heck yes parents are welcome! We also get a number of locals as parishioners as well as some nuns who live nearby. It does occur to me that there is probably a different mass schedule during the summer…I suppose that means there’ll only be 10:30 am mass. I’ll make sure and let you know.

And yes indeed, we did do a service trip over the break, to Tijuana to build houses. It was a wonderful experience, and yes, we do something every spring break, though it probably won’t be Tijuana next year. As a matter of fact, I’m the one in charge of it. And you better believe that it’s happening.

when will the new church be built?

The plan is that it will be completely done by the end of 2012, I believe. We hope to have something serviceable up by September, if I recall correctly.
