Hey all.
So here's my predicament.
I basically figured out where all I was going to apply a couple weeks ago. Sad, I know.
At the moment, I would like to pursue a career in film production, but because of my general lack of experience, this might change in the future :/
It turns out that the USC cinema school application was due Dec 1, and because I heard that it is still possible to take film courses as a non-SCA student, I'm planning on applying anyways.
Is this a bad idea?
If not, what major should I put down for now in the application?
What would my chances be of transferring into SCA later as a USC student?

it’s really hard to transfer into sca but it IS possible, just very very hard. but you could always do a film/tv minor and take a lot of production classes that way.

if you’re wondering what major to put down, something in communications would probably be a good bet if you really want to go into the entertainment industry after graduation. i don’t know about usc’s connections in communications exactly, but i think with a communications major and a cinema minor from usc…job prospects would probably be pretty good for the film industry. just taking a lot of classes in sca (and having a minor in cinema) will probably get you some good connections in the film industry if film is really your thing and you make it a point to make connections, work on films in and out of class, etc. just my two cents, though.
