***USC Class of 2021 Appeals Thread***

Hi guys I’m trying to appeal. I was so lost about what to write about. Do you think if I have a chance if I wrote about being a GIN member (Global Initiative Network) starting from November-ish where I’m like one of the leaders who hosted this big conference, did community outreach programs in GIN where I build hydroponic centers and taught the locals about plant maintenance, and volunteered as a telephone operator in the weekends for an NGO dealing with child prostitution in my country. I’m also willing to pay in full. Would I have a chance? This is my dream school :frowning:

.

Good luck everyone, but it is unlikely we get in!

.

If we get in, can we get some FA aid or scholarship like Regular applicants?

Financial aid is need based which is possible, but there won’t be merit money at this point.

Last year it seems they gave a date that students would hear back about appeals. Does anybody know when it is this year?

may 12 @CathJR

what time do they release decision on may 12?

May 12th is as close as you will get, this isn’t a UC release cycle.

on the FAQ it says May 15

does anyone know around what time the portals will be updated? I emailed my admissions rep but she didn’t give me a time and I couldn’t clearly tell from past posts

No one would know that. USC doesn’t put out a time like the UCs do for notifications.

6 more days until decisions are released !!!1!

How hard to get in usc by appealing, I already committed other school, but still usc is top choice of my schools.

Sometime in the last 2-3 years I had stats from some speech by the AD and it was over a thousand that appealed and less than 10 got in. But it probably varies every year…

In the FAQ it says that USC typically receives around 1000 appeals and 30-50 of them are successful

Here is that info I was thinking about for 2016, it was around 20:

Kirk Brennan, USC Associate Dean of Admissions, tweeted this about the appeals IT situation around 1PM PST:

“Still looking into why notification e-mails haven’t been received by those waiting for results of their appeal. We sent them Fri. …Many students have received the notification.”

THEN he tweeted this:

“We received approx 1,000 appeals. We approved very few, ~20, for either fall or spring adm. No news is not likely good news, unfortunately.”

almost looks like impossible to get in. I have 4.8 gpa with 34 act. why USC doesn’t want me? [-O<

4 more days until decision!!!1!
