Some news about admissions for the class of 2022.
The article talks about how the yield is higher than it’s ever been (over 40%) and other stats.
When I attended orientation for my now-freshman daughter, the admissions guy said they were shooting for a class of around 3000 but got the biggest class they’ve had. So even though they accepted nearly 1000 less students, the yield went up. This could be a sign that the admissions rate could go down a lot again this year if the number of applicants is the same or higher than last year.
I was thinking there are a few things making USC even more attractive - one is the USC Village. It really does add such an awesome dimension and adding 2700 beds of brand new housing helps. Not sure if they had the sophomore guarantee before, but now if you live in USC housing as a freshman, you are guaranteed campus housing as a sophomore (if you meet some deadlines). I also think as costs of colleges go up, USC’s merit scholarships are attracting a growing number of students. And from my experience so far, I can see that the school really is an awesome mix of academics, social, school spirit, great campus, supportive environment, etc. My daughter is really loving it so far.
Good luck to all of you out there applying for Class of 2023!
