@WWWard @hamparyanmomager @naevia and anyone else following USC Dramatic Arts. I too have read about the postcard stuff, checking back for years. Certainly the postcard that was received in February was not THE one that folks say was in indicator. I sorta expected that maybe a second postcard would come THIS week, on the assumption that maybe they do try to give a little heads up to folks to plan for travel. And then I thought, well, maybe this e-mail is THE second postcard. But so far, all 5 people I know have gotten the e-mail. LMK if you find someone you applied that DID NOT get the e-mail.
With the admission packets already ready to be mailed tomorrow, the actual decisions were likely reached days ago. I doubt that any extra indication could change a decision at this late date.
As for SDA… this prior CC post from a parent two years ago seems to explain it well:
From 03-23-2016: “Last year (and in prior years) the “save the date” card sent out in January did not correlate to acceptance. Most people who audition/applied seemed to get it. The “open house” invitation came about a week before the decisions. My son received the “open house postcard” last year in late March. It said the Dean “cordially invites you to attend the USC School of Dramatic Arts Open House”. It required an RSVP to the listed email on the card. Actually it was a postcard in a small envelope. Getting the invitation to the open house just before decisions are due correlates well with acceptance. Everyone who received it was accepted. HOWEVER not getting the postcard does not mean you are out of the running. For whatever reason, there are always a couple of people who are accepted who never got the open house postcard. Not sure if they got lost or what happened, but not getting a postcard should not make you loss hope. Keep your spirits up. You will know soon enough.”
And the above correlates with all that I have heard from 2013 forward.
Good luck to those awaiting news from SDA and to all USC applicants this cycle… and if the hoped for mail does not arrive when your USPS delivery zone would so indicate, reserve panicking until the portals update. Last year my daughter learned via the portal because her “white box” arrived two days late.
does usc release rejection letters the same time as acceptance packages? if so, couldnt we track the letters since theyre first class mail and know whether we got rejected or not?
@SCMHAALUM, thank you! I have a good feeling for whatever that is worth - fingers certainly crossed for you.
Everyone, you have done all you can, take deep a breath and find peace somehow. What will be will be.Have some ice cream, do your homework, watch a movie, find camaraderie in CC, but get off of it if it is making you nuts.
I am always impressed at the support you guys have for each other on here, so much better than than the usual internet negativity. Maybe it’s a Trojan thing, or hopefully its just your generation overall - either way, I think its a good sign for the future of this crazy country.
May all your dreams come true - but don’t forget your dreams are up to you and not defined by where you are for four quick years of your life. No one and no result should squash them - that only happens if you let it.
I wish I would have done something sooner, but I am all the way across the country in Georgia so I was pretty limited on my opportunities. Oh well we’ll find out soon.
On that note I wonder how many people actually apply from Ga.
In the middle of a nor’easter here in NYC, while I am hoping for the USC package on Saturday. I am headed to DC Friday for the March for Our Lives so will not know until Sunday earliest. Good Luck all!
Hey everyone! I am a prospective USC transfer applicant, and I just wanted to give you all a helpful tip to find out your decision faster.
I see a few of you will be away when decisions are mailed. However, you can still find out the same day as everyone else. You can sign up for USPS’s “Informed Delivery.” It tells you what mail should be arriving each day!!
Best of luck to you all!
@aznboi4981 informed digest does not work for the packages. USC or any sender has to enable tracking for it to show there and they don’t. The rejection letter may show up but by then portals are updated for most people. My guess is they know the situation with the letter and may hold them an extra day or two. They use to wait a several days to send them after packages. They only started sending them the same day in the last year or two.
According to CADREAMIN: “USC does not enable tracking on these packages, so you cannot track it. The SENDER (USC) has to enable tracking. But ahhh some of you think - “we have have Informed Delivery Daily Digest” - the postal service that tells tells you what is coming in your mail that day. HOWEVER - these packages are not scanned into that system, because USC doesn’t want them to be. This was again tested during the scholarship period in January, no one saw it in the Informed Delivery Daily Digest. There will be many conspiracy theories on findings ways to beat the system and find out early. It never works or hasn’t so far.”
Oh, I apologize. I did not know that. I was not trying to create any conspiracy theories, @FutureUSCdad. Just was trying to be helpful.
No prob…
Just wait till they start moving the scholarship decision letter in everyone’s portal to message history. People freak and spend the next several hours trying to figure out if there is a correlation. There isn’t. But still fun to watch. (Insert evil laugh here.)
How do i let usc know if i attend i can pay full tuition
@jj1999 I don’t think there’s a way to really… But I wish there was!
Ha I think they have ways they can tell regardless of the need blind status.
anyone know if colorado usually receives the acceptance packages on the first or second day?
What is considered the first day of acceptance packages? Friday? Saturday?
friday @boxerluvr
So what would AZ be? First day or second?
