USC Class of 2022

@mayoosh - I just checked. It’s podcast 3-075. It was posted 7 hours ago.

anyone know the acceptance rate for dornsife? or is it usually one of the more or less competitive school to get in to?

I just read the stats and I definitely didn’t get in. It’s been fun seeing you all!

I’m 3.78 and 1510 with 300 service hours and 20 musicals throughout high school, but I don’t think I’ll get in

@DDHH2017 …uhhh yes you will

@ucplsacceptme
I appreciate it, but I got rejected from UCLA, UCSB, waitlist at UCSD

I’m about to take the L honestly. My GPA suffered cause of the flu and technical problems with my school account, but I hope my counselor’s letter is good enough to cover for that cause I’ve shown significant improvement from my first semesters to second. Ugh i’m just so nervous…

I don’t know if I’ll get in or not. International relations major with a 1410 sat, 3.96 UWGPA, and 4.74 WGPA (11 APs and 3 college classes). Good luck everyone!

does anyone know if USC re-calculates GPA on their own scale, because I know my school does a 3.67 for A-, and I’ve definitely gotten a few of those that have lowered my overall GPA. My ACT is a 34, I played varsity baseball, am a regional board member of my youth group, and am the online editor for the top online high school newspaper in the country, so my GPA is really the only bad part of my application.

A simple bit of advice… you cannot simply look at the stats being reported for those being admitted and draw any conclusion.

Last year, my daughter made a matrix of stats, etc. for all 15 of the colleges and universities that she had applied to… and then crafted her predictions. She and I were way off when the final results came. For example, UVa (who admitted 27%) should have been a yes… Princeton (who admitted 6%) a no. The results were reversed. Every college makes its own subjective decisions.

USC routinely rejects 1000s of applicants with test scores in the 99th percentile. They do so because they are clearly willing to accept applicants with much lower scores who bring other elements to their application package… like ECs, leadership roles, community involvement, strong essays, a compelling “Why USC?” reasoning, creativity, performance skills, etc.

Starting tomorrow, there will be many posts from surprised and excited applicants getting in who realistically thought they had no shot at admission. There will also be posts from some who are shocked that they were passed over for those with lesser stats, etc. USC is looking to craft a diverse and well-rounded freshman class. That does not simply equate to pure scholars who make straight As and excel at standardized tests but offer little else. There will be 1000+ applicants admitted of the 7000 or so who may not have super stats but excel in other demonstrated ways. You have waited this long. Do not pre-judge. Simply wait and see. I am highly confident in USC’s ability to evaluate all of its applicants fairly and holistically.

Good Luck

When will scholarship decisions come out on the portal tomorrow?

If one lives within 15 miles of campus, would they receive the mail today or tomorrow.

@ftfo2022 tmo prob

Thanks.

@DDHH2017 wow what the heck?? you deserve so much better for working that hard im sorry :frowning: but who knows, maybe Usc will come through, completely different review process than the UC’s!

Is it possible the portal will update for scholarships just after midnight (PST) tomorrow? Admissions told me it will be Friday afternoon but if the portal will be updated Sunday just after midnight for RD applicants, I wonder if they might do same for scholarships tonight? Just a theory. Any thoughts?

When will scholarship decisions come out on the portal tomorrow?

@cali1999, see post #2377.

@Nomorelurker It actually makes sense! I applied for USC before December 1st and I remember the first round of scholarship decisions were available 6-7am eastern time (that was in january).

If I did get in when could I expect the package in the Bay Area? (6hr drive from LA) tomorrow?
