@1337MOM Good luck! The averages of those CC posters who did not get an interview (but got accepted later) were around 3.82 and 1380. There were a few 4.0 and 1550’s who did not get an interview, so there’s no sure thing even if you are above the averages.
@collegefind1234, go to https://you.usc.edu/login/,read the read letters above the login prompt.
“Maintenance:
youSC will be unavailable Sunday, January 21st, 2018, from 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM Pacific Time for scheduled maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
6 hours offline, that’s a lot of maintenance!
@bogeyorpar - got it - thank you!
The suspense is mounting, as to whether those white or yellow boxes/packets have been mailed to unsuspecting recipients of USC scholarship awards. @ihopeigetintbh, I am skeptical about the accuracy of a snapchat reply from a student in admissions. Could be an attempt to throw off the scent of the real send date, which might be today or Monday. Tuesday, of course, is plausible, but equally possible the student heard that the portal is updating on Tuesday, as you later posted. With any luck, we will start seeing happy posts tomorrow. Good luck to all and Fight On!
As an aside, @WWWard, I remember reading on the 2021 USC discussion thread that your daughter was admitted to USC last Spring, but had to reapply to the Film school. How is she doing at USC now?
So I’m applying for transfer to USC from a cc. My gpa is a 3.9 and I’ve done well over 30 units for them not to check my high school grades or test scores. Do i have a good chance of receiving a merit scholarship? I know that a 3.9 for a high school applicant might be too low but I’m not sure if its different for transfer students.
@Nomorelurker – I think @ihopeigetintbh is correct on the Tuesday mailing. My D18 got the same answer (and knows who the person is that replied). Could that person be wrong? Sure … but we’re not expecting any news until Thursday at the earliest now.
will iya interview results be out at the same time that scholarship stuff is sent out?
@Chaub2018 I have the exact same question, getting anxious.
Tuesday is weird! Usc’s attempt to stay unpredictable. Who’s to say what other surprises come?
So the package are expected to be mailed on tuesday? If yes then when will the portals be updated?
Did anyone else get a letter two days ago from the engineering school? S18 got one saying the have tons of applicants and admission decisions will be communicated at the end of March. It was a business size envelope so we had a “oh no” moment.
What time will the portals be updated on Friday?
Just double checking…if we have not yet submitted our FAFSA, that will not impact consideration for merit awards, correct?
No not at all, two independent processes.
@lovespink Yeah, I got the same exact thing. I’m guessing it’s just a default letter sent out to all engineering applicants.
No letter received from Engineering School here - but we are OOS.
@droppedit, it would be great if it is the case that the person who indicated the letters will be mailed Tuesday, is reliable, has correct info, or did not misinterpret the info, as was suggested in another post, could be the case. Since USC seems to have had a strict policy in past years of wanting to surprise students with mail, I am slightly skeptical about Tuesday being the day, but maybe it’s true!
It’s 8am on the West Coast. I guess we will know pretty soon if anyone posts that they got a letter today. I thought the 19th was on the early side for a mailing. The more likely date would be Monday or even Tuesday as suggested. At this point, if they end up sending them Monday or Tuesday, it’s a flip of the coin whether it gets to Georgia (assuming S is one of the lucky ones) by Thursday. As another posted, the wait should definitely be over by Friday when portals have been updated! Good luck to all!
For what it’s worth, just check my updated USPS informed delivery. No packages in route and no letters from USC. As said before, northern San Diego county.
@Nomorelurker Yes, my younger daughter was accepted, but only as Undeclared, last March, and she is currently a freshman there. She joined my older daughter, who is now a senior. They even decided to live together in an apartment near campus… so they could live together one more time, have more room/space & nicer amenities and also to simply save a lot of money vs USC Housing. My younger daughter then reapplied for internal transfer to the School of Cinematic Arts, doing so in July, even before the start of the school year. In October, she was admitted to SCA beginning this term (Spring 2018). So far, she is very happy with her decision to attend USC, is doing well academically and socially and is extremely thankful to be firmly within SCA now too.
