We didn’t receive an email, but the portal has DS’s acceptance letter. So happy and completely amazed he got it, but I’d like to see the email and package before I can relax!
Where is the appeal thread? Got TTP but I really think I have a shot.
rejected-- in the end even if i did get accepted I probably couldn’t have attended due to cost but bummed because it was one of my favorites. however was surprised to see how holistic other regions were, however, one student in my school got in with nearly perfect stats so that was a little disappointing yet they obviously deserved it. congrats to everyone!
For future applicants, posting my results one last time before signing off from this thread.
SAT: 1260
GPA UW: 3.93
9 APs
President of community service club, restaraunt manager, etc…
My dad is an alumni also
I was rejected but offered TTP (Transfer Trojan Plan) which to me is basically an admittance for next year, which I am very grateful for good luck everyone!
@WWWard I left this thread for a day, so I don’t know if it’s been addressed, but SDA postcard theory disproved. My S was denied BFA/BA acting after receiving 2/22/18 postcard and followup RSVP email and personal email from SDA admin. He was offered TTP but probably because myself and ex-husband are alumni and his older brother is a current Sophomore at USC. Thanks for helping moderate this forum (and @CADREAMIN). We might be back next year if my S decides on TTP. Very sad day when USC has been your families pride and joy all its life yet the school has outgrown most it’s qualified SCions. What becomes of tradition now? Going to TTP forum to see if it’s worth the potential heartache one more year.
Pretty sure I’m in like the 10th percentile for SAT scores, yet I still got accepted. Problem is I forgot to add USC for financial aid, I did so on Friday but I might be screwed.
Does anyone know any appeal threads. I am pretty upset. White female, 35 ACT, 3.95wt GPA at rigorous college prep school, idk uw GPA, rejected from Marshall and no TTP offered. Also does anyone know how many they offer TTP to? Some medical problems that seriously impacted my life began freshman year. I had to give up the sport that I loved and all other sports. I had to spend a lot of time at doctor’s appointments after and during school. I missed close to 20 days of school each year bc of my medical issues and still kept my grades up. My school doesn’t offer many ECs that aren’t sports. I did do business club and volunteer work though. The other ECs I was interested in doing were either not attainable bc of too big of time commitment for me with missing so much and having doctor’s appointments or I was rejected for not having enough ECs even though my school knows my situation. I am really bummed and it’s hard not to feel like I am just not getting a fair shot. I feel like nothing has gone my way these past 4 years. I haven’t been accepted to any schools I could see myself at. I also wrote my common app on all this, so they knew my situation. Sorry if I sound whiny or full of self-pity, but I just don’t know what to do.
I was accepted back in January but I guess I’ll share my stats before I ask my question.
School/Major: Viterbi/ChemE
Stats: 3.8ish UW not really sure; 4.23 W when applied, 4.37 now; 1480 SAT 790m 690crw
APs: 8 classes in total + took/passed the AP Lang test junior year without taking the class so i thought that was cool lol
ECs: a lot of community service + i had leadership positions in pretty much all the activities that i listed; played volleyball for 3 years; had a summer job at a public health unit in brazil the summer before senior year; i considered myself to be pretty involved overall
Essays/Rec Letters: I think my essays and rec letters played a huge role because i started a GSA club at a catholic school my junior year so most of my essays and rec letters mentioned that in some way/shape/form.
Location: I go to high school in Florida but I guess in terms of admissions I would be considered an international student from Brazil.
Awards: i had some national awards such as bronze medal in NSE and this national mathematical olympiad, not really sure if those were that impressive anyways.
I am still waiting to hear back from the scholarship decision (Presidential scholar finalist) and this is freaking me out because this will determine whether or not i get to attend USC. Anyone else from FLORIDA whose portal still hasn’t updated?
Curious if anyone here applied to UCB that received an email from the financial aid office congratulating you on your acceptance to Berkeley this morning???
@gurodriguesl Several of us scholarship contenders did not have our portal update so we messaged USC Admissions on Instagram. There was an IT issue so you might try that, good luck!!
@droppedit you’re welcome. Good luck wherever you decide to attend…
so they gave you your scholarship decision through instagram? @bigchoices2018
@Twinmomhell yup, no portal update though.
@gurodriguesl No I just let them know I hadn’t received my update and a few hours later they had updated it. Give them my email and student number and they updated the portal.
@hamparyanmomager You’re welcome of course, but sorry to hear of your result. Good luck to your son…
how do you know if you got TTP?
After scanning through all the posts from last night which feature the continuing issues with portal updates, site crashes, etc – I guess that it is even more clear why USC chooses to say 12pm pacific vs the reality of 12am pacific. They know from past experience the issues that have occurred. And with 8K more applicants this year, it was only bound to be even worse. Clearly USC should consider acquiring or renting access to extra servers during these portal updates in January and March.
I got the TTP too even though neither of my parents went to usc.
It says at the bottom of your letter
My DD got rejected. 4.0/34/1560. Congratulations to everyone that got accepted. To the ones that did not…feel sad for a few hours and move on!
