USC Class of 2022

If no merit aid by February 1, does that mean no merit aid is going to be awarded?

@thewait123 There are some Dean’s 1/4 given out in the spring along with other special interest group and departmental scholarships which you guys should be applying for if still open:

https://admission.usc.edu/docs/Scholarships.pdf

But this is the only time for 1/2 and full except for the NMF that get accepted in March, that didn’t already get something now.

@thewait123 While USC does not have an ED or EA offering, moving forward in the merit offering process also includes admission.

@CADREAMIN We do not find out now if the Dean’s 1/4 is awarded? What exactly do we find out on Friday? I thought February 1?

ps @CADREAMIN Thanks for all the help

Just picked up the mail in Fullerton California in there is a white Box for my son I am so excited thank you thank you thank you

Wait, i thought the portal update was Friday 10pm. how do you guys know it’s gonna be Friday morning (12am ish)?

Yes some deans are awarded now. Don’t have to interview and get 1/4 tuition. If u get a package that doesn’t mention specific scholarship, in the past that has meant you are accepted with deans. Not sure why they don’t put that ithere but they never have.

Then they give additional deans in March. Just not as many.

Yoi’re Welcome!

@caleegalee, Somebody posted a couple days ago that letters would be mailed Tuesday, January 23 (which they obviously were) and that the portal would update at 10pm (PT) on Friday. However, in past years, including last year, it was after midnight around three days after the letters were mailed. I am hoping that Admissions is showing mercy on the East Coasters this year (and others in a central time zone) and doing it earlier this year! The question is whether it would be Thursday or Friday at 10pm if it’s done earlier this year.

@ChenXiaoYun So after her audition then? Thank you very much for getting back to me!

I dashed home after school and found a white package on my doorstep  I’m from LA

I was invited to interview for the Presidential Scholarship, and here are my stats to help anyone out:

Major: Political Science
GPA: 4.115W/3.81 UW, IB Diploma Candidate
ACT: 33
SAT Subject Tests: US History 640, Literature 630, Math II 610
AP: One 1, Two 3’s, and a 4

Extracurriculars:

  • State-level officer for Key Club International (Past history as club president, club treasurer, and fundraising coordinator)
  • 3 years of Student Government (Freshman class president and chairs 9 total committees throughout my time)
  • PTSA Programs Coordinator at my school (only student on the PTSA board)
  • Model United Nations (Won Best Delegate at USC’s SCMUN Conference last spring)
  • Filipino Club (Founder and president)

Miscellaneous:
I sat in on a professor’s class, interviewed with the admissions officer assigned to my school by coincidence, had a chat with her after she visited my school later in the year, and I was a QuestBridge Finalist who ranked USC as #2

Thanks @Nomorelurker At any rate, USC is messing with us. send boxes on a rolling basis? send scholarship-rejection letters? yeah, right. X(

So where and when do we find out if we got the scholarship on the applicant portal???

No one is sure, so let’s stat refreshing indefinately starting thursday night, lol

Also, why does everyone suggest we look at the USPS priority mail thing? How does this help?

They are doing it same as they have actually. Just mailed in a Tuesday. I do not believe they are rolling. Portal update Thursday night Friday morning. They also send an email when portal updates. Hang in there!

@berkeleyboundpls congrats! Is that enough to make u rethink ur username?

So did U get invite to interview? You may get bumped or and/or get great Financial aid. Good luck!

wow, on the east coast in a suburb close to NYC and trying hard not to think about the prospect of having a letter on my front stoop from USC tomorrow.

Thanks to all recipients taking time out from your excitement to post!
