USC Class of 2022

@WWWard Thank you for your sympathy! You have been such a great resource throughout this difficult time.

@findingmyfuture You’re welcome. Believe me… I get it. Went though this exact same scenario twice before… in 2014 and 2017. In our case, it worked out fine by late March. So hoping the same for you guys…

D18 got her notification around 10:35am ET. No merit scholarship.

Still no email and no portal update. Fortunately son and I did not wait for it last night.

Is it possible that admission office was telling the truth, that decisions will be rolling out until Feb 1st?

My kid got the “sorry…wait until March” mail. Sounds like some applicants got flat out denied today. Is that correct?

@WWWard Did your daughters get any merit scholarship in March?

@bogeyorpar While anything is possible. I doubt it. Dating back the past 6 yrs or so… that has never been the case. They are simply slow in completing the updates to 39K portals.

@snowdencole No one is rejected until late March.

@ivyforest Yes… but not through USC. But their FA offerings were sufficient to allow them to attend.

Just received email notification. Did not receive merit scholarship. I’m gonna go to my room and cry now. Congrats to everyone who received a merit scholarship though!

Finally got the NO

Guys I’ve been stalking this forum all night and have been so anxious because I probably had no chance since my SAT scores were not there.

But I’m here to tell you that dreams do come true I and got in this morning after checking the portal! I got no email and just had to go check myself and I was met with a sheer plethora of emotions because I truly wasn’t ready for this.

Got deferred from UVA last night and accepted into USC this morning. God is good!

Florida here, my portal has been updated. Unfortunately I will not be considered for a scholarship. Congrats to the rest!

@gliscorlion Congrats! If you don’t mind me asking, what were your stats?

Just out of my curiosity, how many of you that got merit scholarships are also National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists?

@sprinter1 4.26 weighted and 1320 SAT (after taking it 3 times and getting 1180,1220, and 1320 respectively)

@gliscorlion Congrats. UVa has always puzzled me… especially for OOS applicants. Neither of my daughters got in there. Last year, my younger daughter even got into Princeton, but still nothing from UVa. Her best friend had a 4.0 unweighted GPA, a 35 ACT, 10 5s on APs and still got rejected by UVa. You just never know what any individual college is thinking when evaluating applicants…

@ivyforest My son got a Trustee and was NMSF.

@WWWard confirmed - no scholarship with our 10:41 update. Son is disappointed - had 1570 SAT/35 ACT/8 AP’s taken so far- all 4’s and 5’s and 4 more to take this year/NMSF/Eagle Scout/XC runner/NHS/other EC’s

^^^ Sorry

@croaswife His stats are similar to my sons (although my son quit Scouts before making Eagle to do a research internship). Im so sorry, Im sure he will get in and at least you have 50% tuition from the NMSF!

what does it mean if you haven’t gotten an email regarding scholarships? A few friends from my area have received an email saying they didn’t receive anything.
