@anteatergang, @faithshaunaaa @tensign44 Our mailman knocked on our door and left the package on our doorstep – so I’m guessing it came along with the regular mail.
Does anyone know when the east coast will get packages?
@lakergirl6232 That’s such an accomplishment! Congratulations!

Put in 90007 origin
@lakergirl6232 OMG so thrilled for you! I had to go to airport and saw your post but was driving so couldn’t reply right away. Congrats and welcome to the Trojan family!
@WWWard If I am in Los Angeles and got my mail but nothing from USC came does that mean I was rejected? Or will I have to wait for tomorrow?
day 2 tomorrow for me— not really expecting much
sending good vibes out to everyone who has gotten mail but no package, there is also tmm and for sure at 5 we will know if we got in :)!!!
How soon will international applicants receive their packages? For me I live in Shanghai.
@cccharlieee possibly… but you never know. the portal update tomorrow at 5pm pacific is the definitive answer. my daughter in 2017 gave up home when her packet did not arrive… but it turned out that it was two days late… so you never know until you know for sure. good luck…
Thanks for the reply! That gives me a lot of hope. I thought I was rejected 100%
Any RHP applicants hear anything?
@WWWard Can you repost the one you did earlier for those not sure if getting in? That was super good.
@CADREAMIN Which one? This below… or something different?
As a Recap for the applicants waiting:
USC has announced that nearly 67K applied this cycle and that the admit rate will be circa 11%. That equates to around 7,370 being admitted overall. Since 1,000 or so were admitted in January during the scholarship phase, another 6,370 or so will be admitted this week. That # includes both fall and spring admits.
The mail-out of admissions packages, sent via USPS Priority Mail, occurred yesterday morning… March 21st. The admission portals will update for all applicants on March 23rd at 5pm Pacific.
Today is thus Day One for deliveries…
You can project your likely delivery window via the following link… https://www.usps.com/priority-mail/map/ Simply use 90007 as the originating zip code. Be forewarned however that USPS is far from 100% reliable, and they do too often miss those delivery windows. The portal updates on the 23rd will be the definitive answer.
Rejection letters arrive via regular mail later… usually received after the portals update - unless you live close enough to USC.
While you can of course try Informed Delivery via USPS, as it has worked for some, USC does not enable tracking and historically very few of those actually getting the admission packets were able to gain that same-day advanced notice. The vast majority who have had Informed Delivery, including my own family, were not able to see this particular type of package en route. But there is always a chance.
Best of luck to all those waiting for good news…
@EggPlantCoffee I’m not so swift with these forums. Is there a way to direct PM me? Then I can give you lots of tips!
@stargirl1012 Both of my twins got into USC today! They go to Costa! Is that your school???
My daughter got the white box today. She is an RHP kid and we live in Yorba Linda, CA.?
I was thinking the one about if not admitted that was so well written. Sorry I am out so not easy to PM on mobile.
@CADREAMIN Ah… so maybe this one…
Unfortunately, rejection does come along in life. It’s what you do next that matters most. Steven Spielberg desperately wanted to attend USC SCA… so much so that he tried three times to gain admission. He was rejected all three times. And now there is a building bearing his name within the SCA complex. Bryan Singer tried and was rejected by USC and SCA. He tried a second time and got into USC but again not into SCA. He then succeeded as an internal transfer on his third try. Persistence can also pay off.
Many have faced rejection to their dream schools. In my day, for me… it was Harvard… and Harvard saw it differently. Harvard also rejected Dr. Harold Varmus twice. He simply went on to win a Nobel Prize in Medicine. Harvard also rejected Warren Buffet. They surely would like a do-over on that one. Every year around this time, it is important to remember that rejections need not control our lives. And with the way that things have evolved… with the Common Application making it far too common for high school seniors to apply to 10+, 15+ or even 20+ schools, those rejections are bound to add up. My older daughter was rejected by 12 out of 17 in 2014. But these rejection letters are not true assessments of student aptitude or ability or the quality of an application. They are simply the natural evolution of a cruel #s game. USC could clearly admit tens of thousands of quality applicants this year. They are instead stuck with the arduous, unwelcome and nearly impossible task of only picking 7300 or so out of a field of nearly 67K. They will even have to reluctantly disappoint 90% of all legacy applicants.
As Warren Buffet says in the article linked below: “The truth is that everything that has happened in my life…that I thought was a crushing defeat at the time, has turned out for the better. A temporary defeat is not a permanent one. In the end it can be an opportunity.”
To all of you active on CC or just following along without posting… good wishes and the best of luck getting in. If you do not get into USC, hopefully you will find your place at another great option. But clearly some will face disappointment. Some will not gain admission into their dream school. I wish it could be otherwise.
Here’s a link to an excellent article on the subject of those who went on to great success after facing such a similar set-back as aspirational high school seniors aiming for that dream school scenario…
