DS auditioned for Thornton. I see package coming from USC through USPS Informed Delivery service. The notice indicates package in transit at USPS regional facility at 8:34pm.
@Cattyy my daughter was denied at UCLA as well but is thriving at USC her first year and loves it. Good luck.

Live about an hour away from USC and haven’t received anything… Just so sad about how this probably means I got rejected after everything I did to get to this point. I got into some other UCs today but I don’t even feel happy. Congrats to all…

And you have the distinct honor of being the only one that saw it on informed delivery this year so far. There have been 5 people on CC (among hundreds and hundreds) that saw it there over last 3 years - and they were all Thornton majors. Most come with the big batch but they seem to send out a couple themselves - Is he an audition type major? I have Thornton major there now, it is as fantastic as one might think!

My mailman said he was seeing the packages on Wednesday and today (Thursday) coming through their post office in big batches (West Los Angeles ) … Do you know if they don’t mail all of them out on Thursday? Or do you think they mail some early on Thursday, and others late in the day? My DS didn’t receive anything today. Just wondering if he might get tomorrow (Sat). SC is his #1 and dream school. He will probably try to do something for one year, and then try to transfer if he doesn’t get in. Any recommendations? Also, is TTP in the portal when you are denied? THANK You @CADREAMIN and @WWWard for all your guidance. ahhhh! Get me to 5pm Saturday!
The option for TTP would be in the “not admitted” letter. It is not offered to everybody, they have to offer it to the student when they are denied now, during regular admissions. You contact them later (like May to set up meeting) to confirm your intent to pursue TTP, there is nothing to do right away and nothing on the portal (which is a little unnerving). @cadreamin We’re in NorCal so hoping for news tomorrow one way or another. I remember a discussion probably back in January about scions and getting January or maybe it was sophomore year acceptance contingent on getting good grades at an abroad program like Paris. Could you remind me what that was all about and if it applies to all scions or just some? Thanks!

Just a clarifying question: If a National Merit Finalist who put USC as their first choice is admitted, does that person automatically get the Presidential Scholarship? A USC Merit Scholarship PDF I saw seemed to imply that there is some “consideration” involved.
If admitted and NMF the half tuition is guaranteed if you make USC your #1 choice with NMSF. So yes. Technically it is the Presidential but some get those without being NMF in January, thus the confusion. A Presidential that interviews could be bumped up or down, that is likely what the “consideration” you see is referring to.

@collegemom111111 I think you are referring to TTP (Trojan Tranfer Plan), which is offered to some scions (not all) and to some non-scions as well.
