USC class of 2023 Applicants Thread

@123california Costa Unite!
do you know anyone from MCHS who got the scholarship notification in Feb?

@sumguy i donā€™t hahah, wait who are you!

Does that mean Day 2 Deliveries (East Coast) will arrive tomorrow?

@mnario123 From observing the threads over the previous years and from what CADREAMIN and WWWARD have stated already, majority of east coasters should expect a package on Saturday!!! :slight_smile:

Is it possible for nearby places to receive the packages today?

Will they notify you if they sent the packages?

Maybe because of the recent college admissions scandal, USC is keeping the admissions release this year very low key. Thus no social media blitz regarding the mailing of acceptances.

That Reddit post gives me major anxiety haha.

Has anyone checked the ā€œinformed deliveryā€ and saw something coming?

If they went this morning that is great news. However tomorrow is still day 1. Could a couple have gone on out close to USC, yes, but you shouldnā€™t be worried as that would be an exception. Tomorrow is the day they drop around all of SoCal. San Diego might even see them tomorrow rather than day 2. But also on day 2. Since they went out in morning (if true) then many more will get them before portal updates which is likely what they want.

@123california

Iā€™m just sumguy who goes to Costa. Duh.

Although it was my impression that almost everybody applying to these kinds of colleges browse CC and a2c so perhaps weā€™re not the only ones given how USC-heavy costa kids are

@pamom414 nope :frowning: was hoping for good news since Iā€™m already working with a USC professor on something have have sky high grades/sat (eg 1500+Sat and 800 SAT2s) but seeing that reddit post is making me anxious bc thereā€™s nothing on informed delivery for me

When they start really arriving you will see it in here with many posts.

@sumguy it would be crazy if we were actually friends in real life or sit next to each other in a class. and yeah out of all public high schools, costa is the 3rd most popular at usc!!!

Just checked the informed deliveryā€¦ nothing for this end ā€¦ soā€¦

@sam4818 I applied to the architecture school too and submitted a portfolio and it doesnā€™t say it on mine either. I think we should be fine since it said on slideroom that it was sent.

WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR PACKAGE TOMORROW PLEASE POST WHERE YOU ARE - CITY AND STATE.

Thanks and good luck all - tomorrow is the first of the big days ahead!

Does anyone know when Washington State (Seattle area) should expect the packages?

@CADREAMIN are we expecting the financial aid package in the box too?

You can look here - 90007 is starting point - tomorrow will be a big day with the earlier departure of packages. Saturday will be massive.

But generally speakingā€¦and just for fun since we are just waiting and waitingā€¦

They will start blanketing Socal on Friday between 10:30am-1:00pm, with time depending on who gets their mail early. Always love that first verified post! Much of Socal receives the first day, but often times San Diego doesnā€™t get theirs until second day so donā€™t freak out there. Thinking they could be tomorrow now since they went out in morning, we will see if anyone from SD posts tomorrow.

It would be great if Norcal got in on Day 1 this year since they left earlier than usual. (Other years it left in the afternoon, so maybe they will get up here Friday???) Generally, Norcal, Arizona, and a lot of the Midwest will be Saturday as will many many areas of the country including a large amount of the Midwest, east coast and FLA. Bay Area and Sacramento region will be day 2, more remote areas of Norcal day 3. Philadelphia and Chicago should be day 2. The surprise is how fast these things move and how they reach a great part of the country all on the second day, but a couple major metros are skipped till day 3 - namely Seattle and Denver. Hopefully they get there faster this year with the earlier departure! What is odd (and typical) is one neighborhood in NYC will get them, but someone a few blocks may need till day 3 or 4. So the majority around the country will receive them Saturday, but that said, there are plenty of folks that donā€™t get them and will find out with the the portal update that evening at 5:00pm. EST.

So glad they have come to their senses and made portal update earlier, and posted the time. Was always a guessing game - that was too stressful!

WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR PACKAGE PLEASE POST LOCATION - CITY AND STATE!
(Sorry to yell but itā€™s a long post)

That is super helpful to all the anxious applicants waiting and wondering.

Financial Aid starts coming 3-4 days after the packages, so mid to end of next week most likely. FA can be quite spread out depending if all info is in, etc, but a large portion comes out within a week of being admitted.

Post edit: if you get a Deanā€™s Scholarship (1/4) it should be in the acceptance.
