USC computer science vs Berkeley EECS?

I have gotten into both and I’m not sure which to chose… I am going to be applying for grad school so being able to get research is an impt concern for me. Strictly program and experience-wise, (cost is not a concern) which is the best choice for undergrad compsci?

I realize $ doesn’t matter, but you got a scholarship from USC?

Cal is the better school with the proximity to Silicon Valley and the SF startup community a huge plus.

USC alumni network is stronger!

@doglover13 you need to talk to current students. UCB will have the better “rep” by a bit, but USC may have some more interesting things going on, depending on what you are looking for.

Don’t listen to people here unless they are current students or recent graduates. Try to FB or otherwise connect with current students in those programs. D is at Viterbi, and the most useful, accurate info she got was from current and recent students. Much of the “expert” advice she got on CC was tainted, misleading or just wrong.

Definitely EECS (assuming you have gotten into Cal EECS with early decision and USC CS with scholarship consideration)

I have a senior CS major at Viterbi. Would be glad to share what I know through PM. Had the same choice you did 4 years ago. At Viterbi, there are EE requirements within CS, but you can also easily double in EE and CS, or take more EE classes within CS - flexibility is what they are all about. The opportunities within Viterbi and when you graduate are incredible. Both schools are great, but I would vote 100% USC.

Yeah I got half tuition at USC
