Yeah, admissions officers have to tell you that decisions will be mailed out May 28th to coincide with the June 1st date that is on all of their official documents and website. I think the key word is BY June 1st, I would be suprised if none of us heard from USC in early/mid May.

That's what I thought, too. But, the woman I talked to, like the rest, was just a rep. She's not like any real important person, so I don't think she would care very much and she said "the last week of May" almost immediately after I asked, so I think she was telling the truth. In addition, I know the admissions offices tend to be rather clandestine about their processes, but what would they care if we know when they start mailing admission letters?

If anybody else has to call for some reason...try asking the same questions and see what they say and how they say it...that will give us a better idea.

I have to call anyway to clarify some finacial aid stuff, I'll sneak it in there randomly. =)

I want the acceptance now!!!!

I want midterms to be over before they even begin!

Any more demands, people?

u noobs, check this out
"can i just get the degree"
ahahaha

lol @ Doryx,

my facebook status was "I want a Porsche 911...Turbo" yesterday...

...I don't really care, I understand that they are really backed up. I just hope they make good decisions...;)

My own son just wants to have a good Spring break--he flew to Texas today to start his.

lucky...
spring break doesn't exist at my CC
GG for me and my freedom

Yeah, stupid CC. Oh wait we go to the same CC =p

i just want to get in...but anyway...besides the whole "i want...." theme going on here

Okay I'm a little tired of getting letters from USC now lol. Got two more letters today, one is the detailed instruction on how to provide the requested financial documents for the speediest process. The second, however, said they wished to reach a decision on my application but couldn't because they don't have my HS transcript yet (left HS ages ago, just haven't gotten around to them), and that the "fastest way is via fax". Um ... okay? I'm sure transcripts should not be faxed ;). Anyways, out of all the 13 or so schools I've applied to, USC has far and above been the most affectionate, making me feel like that actually appreciate me as an applicant and a potential student. But I thought decisions don't come out till the end of May? Why are they in such a hurry to "reach a decision" on my application? Anyways, I'll get those transcripts and FinAid stuff in asap, and if this application process is any indication of what it must be like to be a student at USC, then I must say that I like what I'm seeing very much. No I don't need anybody to hold my hands in college, but it's nice to know that the university appreciates you and is there to back you up.

/soapbox

So, if OASIS says you have everything in, and it says I have my CSS and FAFSA turned in, then should I expect something from USC confirming that they have everything? Or do they only mail you if they are missing something?

redtapepatrol-they're so behind they probably want all the info so they can do this entire admissions thing in a timely manner. i keep being asked for taxes and stuff i really need to start faxing them soon..

^^ Ahhh I see. Well at least they actually bother to remind you to turn in the necessary stuff. Other private schools don't even care to let you know what they need, you have to find out every little stupid requirement they have to have and make sure you get it in on time and make sure that they actually received them. Cuz like I said, they just plain don't give a damn and won't contact you for anything. It makes me appreciate the people working at USC admissions quite a lot because it takes a lot of effort to stay with students through the application process.
