They request my spring grades to make the final decisions, does that mean I can’t get in?:frowning:

I also received spring grades request :frowning:
Having decision delayed gives me palpitations

@nicolehhh and @soma1994 : having them ask for your spring grades isn’t necessarily a bad thing. At least it means you still have a shot. They could just deny you, but must think there’s a chance, otherwise they wouldn’t wait. You had just better do well this spring!

@sbccstudent19 the deadline is two weeks from your letter date, or June 1st, whichever is later. But you know what, I have never seen them turn away a late transfer deposit.

I am not going so well this spring. One of my relatives (I was very close to him) passed away. It has affected my performance in general.
Do you think there’s a way I can explain to USC of what has transpired since I submitted my application.

Sorry for your loss, but it seems a bit late to be addressing anything at this point. While you can try, it may just come off sounding like an excuse (especially since so late in the process) regardless of your sincerity. Almost everyone is dealing with something, but as an adult using it as a reason for not doing well doesn’t fly like it did when you were younger. You can try, but in so doing, you may highlight a weakness, not a strength…

Did you get an SGR or just haven’t heard yet?

They sent a letter in the mail requesting SGR.
I see what you mean but it’s a bummer to know I may come off as making an excuse.

If they requested an SGR, then I think it is ok to send a letter explaining an issues with your grades. I thought you were just sending it in cold, without a grade request. Find your admissions counselor and send them a brief explanation.

Does anyone know when the decisions will be released?

Some already have, but certainly not all, read back in this thread:

@CADREAMIN wow thanks. Ive been following this dead thread forever

@yagayeet Ya know, that thread is really hard to find and a lot of people don’t know it exists, I have posted the link many times all over the place, I think it should be stickied each year up top - transfers need info too!

DECISION: Accepted
Date Applied: December or early January
Date decision postmarked: May 12th 2016
Date received: May 14th 2016
School: Dornsife
Major: Psychology
SGR: No
TPP: No

GPA: 3.94 (Finished this semester with a 4.066)

Received decision in mail first. It was in a thick, gorgeous, USC gold and USC cardinal folder with a hand-signed letter awarding my acceptance and multiple packets. YouSC updated 3 days later, financial aid updated 3 days after youSC updated. I did not receive an SGR despite the fact that I had both Writing I and Math I in progress this semester and have never taken a math or english course nor AP. I committed just today, so proud to be a Trojan! Fight On!

Congrats @sxsxjx welcome to the Trojan Family!

Where are all you guys planning on living?
I just applied for usc housing but i’m not sure if I should just go through USC housing or look at off campus housing…Stressing out haha

@Sxsxjx where are you from (if you don’t mind me asking)?
