I was just wondering if anyone knew what formula USC uses to calculate applicant GPA. Any help would be truly amazing.

I read somewhere that it's an average of the unweighted and weighted GPAs. Prior to that, I'd thought it was just a weighted GPA on a 5.0 scale, where regular classes have a maximum 4.0 and APs (and other college level) courses are 5.0 for an A.

thank you very much.

As best I can tell, it's a weighted average, but only IB, AP and college level courses are weighted - no "honors" classes. Also, there's no cap on the weighted courses, like UC has.
