Exactly. But if you found some relevant questions then perhaps those are the issues that are most important to you. The key is to identify what is important to you.

People make decisions for all kind of crazy reasons. For example, just because a school competes in the ivy league. Or In Princess Catherine’s case she chose St. Andrew’s because of Prince William.

Am I the only one that sees Georgetown as the best option regardless of what USC offers? Unless USC becomes free, and/or you really want to be in So Cal, Georgetown seems to be the clear choice.

No I don’t, but my judgment in this case wasn’t based on the quality of education. My judgment was based on what is perceived to be a concern/value for prestige in the OP’s original post. It was also my mistake to be unclear by what I meant when I wrote “free”. I meant to imply that getting into substantial debt for more than what Georgetown is costing is not worth it unless one really wants to be in So Cal(of course “fit” too is another thing that could determine worth/value, but fit doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue because it wasn’t brought up in the OP’s original post.)

PS I had posted before reading the update on USC’s financial aid package.
