Hi, I got into USC Marshall and NYU College of Arts and sciences for economics. I also got into UCLA for econ ( which does not have a business school). I plan on doing Social Entrepreneurship minor in Stern and will definitely look towards joining business clubs/orgs in all schools. I might try to transfer to Stern internally but im not sure how easy that is. I am looking towards management/consulting/ not exactly 100% sure. Cost wise both are same. I am from the west coast and Im not picky about which coast I end up in. The cost of attendance is not an issue. USC I am not sure if the vibe is something I very much enjoy, but not too bad. UCLA vibe I love and NYU falls somewhere in the middle. Which one would be better? I have to choose by Friday.
Not easy.
Is business the goal? Marshall seems the clear winner.
Fwiw, I think the vibe at USC and UCLA is pretty similar, so I’m surprised you aren’t giving USC more consideration. USC has a beautiful campus. The classes will probably be smaller at USC and Marshall is well known.
If you want to go to NYU for the sake of being at NYU, go. But do not go there assuming you will be able to get into Stern. But you said you love the vibe at UCLA and you will be able to study the same major as at NYU. So I’m not seeing a downside to UCLA, plus as a CA resident, you can’t beat the cost.
I think you should be ruthless though. Eliminate the one of least interest and don’t try to convince yourself of the pros of the eliminated school. Then think hard about the two remaining choices.
I think you answered your own question. UCLA
