<p>New honors have been received by SC professors in various fields. Professors Alan Willner, Donal Manahan, Anthony Michael and Mathew McCubbins have all been named Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.</p>
<p>Dr. Julian Pomaradski has been named an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.</p>
<p>Dr. Solomon Golomb of Viterbi has received the William Proctor Prize.</p>
<p>Professor Michael Waterman was elected to the National Academy of Engineering.</p>
<p>Ray Irani, alumnus and USC Trustee, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering.</p>
<p>Ron Astor, of the USC School of Social Work, has been elected as a 2012 Fellow of the American Educational Research Association. Previously, he had been awarded the Palmer Johnson Award fromthe AERA.</p>
<p>The Russian Academy of Sciences was founded in 1724. USC Professor Vladimir Zelman, of the Keck School of Medicine, has been elected to the historic academy. </p>
<p>Dr. Zelman is the co-chair of anesthesiology at the Keck School. He has worked for many years to further academic and medical ties between the U.S. and Russia.</p>
<p>Jacques E. Hymans is an Associate Professor of International Relations at Dornsife. Professor Hymans was named a Mellon Foundation Fellow. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard. He was a pre-doctoral Fellow at Stanford University.
He is the author of two books and many journals. Other fellowships were an Abe Fellowship and Luce Fellowship as well as the George Book Award.</p>

<p>Dr. John B. Slaughter received the New York Hall of Science Distinguished Leader Award. Dr. Slaughter was a former President of Occidental College and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.</p>
<p>Dr. Azad Madni was elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Astronautics and Aeronautics.</p>
