Is it weird that I never got an email but my portal did update?
Congrats to everyone. Still waiting for a Portal update here. Does anyone know how long this can take ? When my son logs onto the portal it just has the note from Katherine Harrington.
?you may want to scroll down further on that page for a link to status update. GL.
We scroll all the way down and the last thing is financial aid checklist. He has checked 100 times ! Are all the results out or does it take 48 hrs etc
Can’t wait much longer !
Thanks
staus update link is right after the letter, before FA checklist
This is what we get after the letter from K Harrington

All sorted. Rejected. It was for RHP and a separate email had come in which we did not see.
Congrats to everyone else.
Interesting addition to the class with a dig at some others…https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/435461-dr-dre-boasts-after-his-daughter-gets-accepted-into-usc-all-on
By the way, her mom was a practicing attorney at one point and Truly is supposed to be very bright and talented so I believe that she did get in on her own. Her music is interesting because it is inspired by groups like Nirvana more than her pop’s.
@AdoptedHippo you’re welcome
@JohnGaltIII While she may have very well gotten into USC simply on merit… I am not sure that a father (Andre Young/Dr Dre) who has donated $35M ($70M along with his Beats partner, Jimmy Iovine) to USC should be trumpeting that his daughter’s selection had zero to do with wealth, privilege or undue influence. Everyone understands the existence of the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy. Clearly, any applicant from his immediate family was going to garner special consideration regardless. I do not think that he needed to turn to social networking in defense of the selection. Oh well… congrats to her.
@applicantXIX would love to see you admission video. Can you you share?
filmmomvt can you share your daughters film submission ?
Does anyone know where to find the “application Reference ID” that you need in order to join the Admitted Students Facebook group for USC?? Thanks!
@lakergirl6232 It should just be the USC ID. At least I assume so…
The Application Reference ID is at the very top of the PDF acceptance letter. It is not the same number as your USC ID (at least in our case it isn’t).
The USC ID is located on your FAST page (top right). Son’s USC ID begins with 753 and is 10 digits long, his App Ref ID begins with 954 and is 9 digits long.
@lakergirl6232 I went to my admissions portal and under their note about the scandal there’s a message that says “If you need to contact us regarding your application, provide your name and this reference number” and then there’s a 9 digit number. That’s what I used but I haven’t been approved to join the group yet so I’m not sure if that’s right? I’m wondering if @WWWard is right and it’s the 10-digit USC ID # I’ve had to use for like financial aid and stuff. But if that’s the case I don’t know why they would specifically say “reference number.”
I’m curious bc I’ve been waiting since Saturday night on the Facebook Group approval, has anyone here gotten into the group already? I want to make sure I didn’t do something wrong with the answers I entered.
@romns116 Looks like we agree on what the reference number is, which is good!
Has your son gotten approved to join the Facebook group yet? I’m still waiting and just want to make sure I didn’t do anything wrong.
THANK YOU ALL for the info on where to find the 10-digit USC ID #! Who would think that the FB group would want the FAST (financial-aid related) number!!! Now I’m still waiting for the FB group to approve my son to join!!! Has anyone been approved yet? It says up to 48 hours…
@lakergirl6232 I’m still waiting too. I’m hoping we’re not the only ones. I may go post in the massive USC 2023 thread about it.
Just so you understand… your USC ID is actually the only # ever asked for by USC for everything… financial aid, housing, course registration, your payment account, etc. I have no idea whether that is what FB is asking for… but it will be the only USC # for official USC business going forward…
My son hasn’t requested to join the FB group just yet, he has to create an acct first
